bloody odd stuff on my car!! HELP!!!

driving to Leeds tonight, following a lorry when there is a loud bang/woosh, my car is instantly covered in what I thought initially, was radiator fluid or perhaps brake fluid, whatever, the lorry pulled over straight away, I had carried on for a short while past the junction exit, then pulled onto the hard shoulder as on "wiping" the screen it went completely opaque, as if you had just wiped newly melted ice, however it didn't clear as I used my screen wash and wipers, it got so bad I couldn't see out of the screen at all!!
I had to literally scrape this blue waxy substance with my finger nails as a cloth and the wipers were useless!! I had to return home as best I could and have tried everything to get this "stuff" off the car, hot soapy water, white spirit, wheel cleaner,WD40,(sorry jaws) paint brush cleaner, tar remover, and even bleach and toilet cleaner!! NOTHING except my "now aching" finger nails will even get near to removing it!! even had the car hand washed "by tame Slovaks, and their "spray" didn't move the stuff, no chance of getting back to the lorry to ask what it is, it doesn't smell, and it wont go away with hot (boiling) water, that just makes it smear!! :bang:
any ideas what the shit is, and how to get rid of it without damaging the cars paint any further??
I thought it may be some of that tyreseal shit for lorries, but it has no "threads" etc as you would find in "slime" etc
HELP!!!

Does sound like a tyre sealant, ie the bang... does'nt sound like a 'lorry fluid'. You could try petrol (but you'll need to re-wax the car afterwards, though from the sound of it you're going to have to once you've got it off anyway).

I doubt if its a petroleum product more likely a synthetic... try oil to see if it'll soften it.. nope thats a petrol product.

Waxy, Might be a T'cut job.

Methylated spirits might be worth a go.

Ultraseal is blue
http://www.ultrasealshop.com/
might be worth asking them how to remove it.

Hope that helps.

Try Autoglass, if they can't get it off they can replace your screen for you!

Ian, I have a feeling you have been unlucky, my brother who works at Leeds university told me that yesterday they took delivery of a very rare creature for analysis this creature is the giant masturbating whale-pike they are dying out as they very rarely mate preferring instead to throw one off the fin, it can grow to 100foot in length the one they took delivery of is an adolescent so is at it's most active time masturbating every 30 seconds or so I've spoken to my brother & he says the only way to remove the sperm is by using your finger nails, he says that when you have scraped it all off would you be so kind as to put it in black bin bags & deliver it to Leeds Uni [medical dept]

on further investigation this morning, it is indeed looking very "waxy" to the touch, and hasnt hardened any more, it still wont move with hot water though!! :dunno:
thank for the information Derek, but I'll leave the whale wanking to the experts like you and your bruvver!! :tosser:

just had a reply from ultra seal,!! they will get back to me!!
seems they don't know how to shift the shit either!! :dunno:
no good leaving it on the windscreen!! I am a "biker" therefore "slightly" more aware of the need to actually look where I'm going, unlike most myopic cage drivers that clear a "porthole" in the ice etc to look through in bad weather conditions!! :tosser:

I'm told it would work as a rust preventative on poxalls too!!

Just a thought, could the truck have blown an air resevoir? He would certainly have stopped quickly after that and those tanks that don't auto bleed can gather a great deal of crap in them, usually emulsified oil, grease, water and cra. mixture, sticks to most things!

dunno Eric, all I do know is it aint coming off, and theres so much on it, I really dont want to be "scratching" it all off with my finger nails!! :dunno: that and I've just clipped them as I "poked" my nose and made it bleed while picking it!! h1d1ng2

You could try panel wipe........... that might dissolve it.

Sounds like your only choice is to scrape it off. Use a plastic scraper and just work across from side to side in straight lines. Or leave a nice burberry pattern on the screen and sell it to a chav for a fortune!!!

Ian, Have you tried that stuff that freezes chewing gum?
It comes in a tin, spray it on, freezes the stuff, stuff goes brittle, and can be pulled off the stuff its cemented to. ( not the car stuff, the nasty stuff)

Might work on your bionic gunge :dunno:

I havnt Steve, thing is it's like a spray, small droplets ALL over the front of the car, along the sides and all over the windscreen and side windows, so scraping wouldnt be the answer, just something to dissolve it seems to be the reasonably easy way to sort it, it's too bloody cold out to stand outside scraping!! :dunno: thanks all for your suggestions so far though!!
