I think he needs to be a bit braver on the start. He might just crack 10.

I am not sure revving it out to 11000 helped a lot as with a fairly stock engine etc the power (torque) would have dropped off by then ?

Why? It's not like I do it every time I ride.
Easiest way to cause damage especially if the motor is cold. and its pointless anyway, I sometimes thrash just about anything but never in first or second ;)

A nice hot motor and the throttle wound back steadily, not ripped to the stop, just to see what the figure was.

Somewhere on YouTube, there's a video. (y)

I'm fairly certain I've done exactly the same, with every bike and car. I would consider myself to be mechanically sympathetic.

Not first and rarely in second for me, any other gear yep I give it the beans

Absolutely no point in redlining in first or second anyway as power has fallen off the edge of a cliff by then, sorry gents but the rest of us will be pootling past by the time you get 4th as we have kept it in the power (torque) and not wasted all that energy, the bloke in the vid would have probably gone faster doing the same imo

There’s a video of me with the nitrous Busa. A bit of background for the keyboard knowalls, this strip is extremely slick and bumpy. The last run of the day was wind behind, always useful when it’s normally headon. The tyre was almost shot, and to enliven the spectators a BIG burnout added to the thrill. In first gear it was going well until I managed it hit a bump and it overrevved and the same time I airshifted into second, Lovely now I’ve got some good traction and by the way, in second gear the nitrous turns on adding an additional 60hp Instantly to the 200+ already. Whoopsie up she rises. And another low 9 second run on a streetbike.

Who said anything about power?:stick:

How can you see how fast it goes in 1st gear, if you don't red line it? :nusenuse::flipa:

I’d forgotten I still had a gearing calculator on the PC so I resurrected the details of my LSR road turbo Busa. 36/20 gearing, the maximum front sprocket to clear the clutch pushrod. It’s showing top speed at 10,800 rpm , but I’d keep it to 9500 max - you DO NOT rev bounce the turbo. The green highlighted area are for tyre slip, allowing for the rear tyre to start spinning at over 200mph. 689EAB16-929A-4345-BA70-8A73B2419438.jpeg

Why do f'ing Aussies have to raise the pitch of their voices at the end of every sentence to make everything they say sound like a question? Bunch of twats.

Will it flip? No actually it’s all well controlled but very photogenic. This was winning 2006 Ultimate Streetbike Challenge, an aggregate of 1 mile top speed, 1/4 mile and dyno HP6AE98101-163B-49C3-9D6C-1FE5B6EE2E47.jpegC9352C93-1493-4FE8-BD0C-BF6707E08C7D.jpegC9352C93-1493-4FE8-BD0C-BF6707E08C7D.jpeg
