Was going round a slight right-hand bend on a deserted country road. Was sticking to the left-hand-side of the road because it's a bit muddy in the middle. Drifted out wide slightly on to the muddy verge heading out of the corner and was trying to get back onto the tarmac when the handlebars shook violently and the bike fell on the right hand side. I scraped my hand and bum but the bike just slid and slid down the road. Was probably doing around 60mph when the bike dropped but I can't say for sure.

So, without actually seeing it in front of you, is it salvageable? What do I need to check to see if it's worth saving and how would I check it? Left hand side is fine. Only thing that leaked was coolant I think.

Hard luck fella!

What Wolfie said.

Have a word with Taffy about parts, he's in the process of a clean up of his stocks?? May be cheaper than an insurance claim.

Hope you are ok, Those jeans look very 'used' now as well

** Just noticed the oil cooler has been pushed over as well, may be more damage than first thought**.

Thanks guys. Yes, it does need a lot replacing. I'm third party fire and theft so not claiming on insurance. I'll get in touch with Taffy and Jaws about some parts once I've stripped the broken bits away and found out whether the engine, gearbox, forks, frame and wheels are ok. Still got to get it home yet (was only a few hours ago). Going to borrow a trailer. It's left at a house near where I crashed it in Pluckley in Kent.

My gear is ruined but it did a good job. Helmet didn't even touch the ground. Gloves ripped through and left me with this

As for that hole in the jeans, it went through my compression gear and underwear too and left me with an un-postable scrape

Yeah, sitting on my side right now because I can't sit flat. They were kevlar jeans and I think with normal ones the arse would have been much worse! Cheers for the concern everyone

Ooh! Bet you're gutted. However, you are at least still here to tell the story. Chin up and don't forget to sit on the right. Virtual hugs as well.

Glad you're in one piece, nice arse.... :-0)

Wash the bike first, that'll clarify what's damaged.

Wolfies list looks close for a start. Too expensive to replace with new, so taffys a good bet. Or buy another and either flog or keep the spares. Now i happen to have a bird for sale.

What they all said - glad you're just grazed and nothing is broken.

As for the bike, so long as it didn't hit anything it should be straight and just need the plastics, lights and levers. Taffy seems to have a fair stock of bits and might take sympathy on you as well!.

GWS!

Hi Paul,

Sorry to see you have had an off mate, but at least your ok, and has others have said the as long as your breathing any thing metal and plastic can be repaired. Wolfie has pretty much nailed it on the head parts wise, The right side frame fairing mount usually wears down but that can be fixed. check that the front wheel and discs and forks are straight and more importantly where the nose cone fairing bracket bolts to the frame is not cracked as the bike will defo be a scrapper if that part of the frame is damaged.

Taff.
