Have a bitch Bike clothing shops

ianrobbo1

good looking AND modest
Been out to Leeds today "don't ask" to get a new jacket and gloves for Yvonne, talk about the long and short of things!! there in one corner was a couple that couldn't find anything to fit her, tall and thin, then we have Yvo, the exact opposite, the only things that would go near either was man's stuff, if you look online it's the same there as well, all the large stuff gone, standard stuff sitting there not selling because nobody fits anything, Now I'm no genius (contrary to popular belief) but don't the upper management look at what is selling out all the time, against stuff that just sits around, or perhaps actually LISTEN to their staff telling them what's what, and they do, have a look next time your at a bike meet sometime, the "bikers" are all shapes and sizes, yet these companies seem to think we are all built the same way, in the USA they seem to have got used to the "larger" frame of both men and women, how long until the management over here finally wake up to the idea, they must know they are missing out on profits, ?? just saying, and as Yvo pointed out, women are a different shape to men, they tend to have wider hips and shorter in stature, she eventually went for a mens jacket and Richa rather natty gloves also mens. :confused:IMG_20190728_163758.jpg IMG_20190728_163810.jpg

Even when you do find kit that fits why does it almost invariably only come in black...?

Because anything else is for girls :D

I struggle getting kit that fits properly as most makers seem to think that at 6 foot tall I should be 16 stone, I'm not as the name suggests so most kit fits like a sock on a chickens lip :(

My problem is leg length. I can buy strides off the shelf that fit my stumpy 29" pins in most high street shops. That option has been around in the clothing industry for donkey's.
The bike industry, on the other hand, seems to have one feckin" leg length for each waist size and for a 34" waist that means I'd need to wear bike boots from the glam rock era....

I'm trying really hard to imagine a sock on a chicken's lip but failing miserably.
Got any pictures that you could post here...? :calimero1:

I have the opposite problem needing 33"+ leg length for a comfortable fit that will stay in boots while on the bike, I could get them if I was a fat basket but I'm not :(
Its rare that I can find jeans that are long enough not to look like they have fallen out with my shoes as the standard length of 30 or 32" just isn't enough hence wearing ex army camo's 99.9% of the time, the military seem to have realised that everyone isn't a standardised shape & its about time everyone else did the same imo

I've worn bike strides on the outside of boots for years for that reason (and before Foggy made it trendy), otherwise I'd never get the boots zipped up over the excess material from the strides. One pair that I had left so much excess hanging out the top of the boots, it looked like I had a pair of jodhpurs on at half mast.

I've been using a pair of Spada strides for the last few years as they have an option to tuck the bottoms of the legs up by 2" with velcro to retain them.

The military have always had a decent range of kit sizes, it's just that the cnuts in stores don't understand it.

I seem to recall there is a massive taxfree bike warehouse in Andorra some years ago that supplied just about everything motor cycle clothing related some years ago. - don't know if that still exists?

Nice place to visit anyway:cool:

I used to go to Andorra for tax free clothes years ago. Not one shop, the whole of the Main Street was bike clothing it seemed.

When I was there last there aren’t so many clothing shops as such as the prices have now all harmonised throughout Europe. No more bargains on Dainese. :(

It’s a nice place. The hospital A&E is switched on and very efficient :( Thankfully although on a bike trip, it was a sharp tile in the water world place that sliced my ankle open. Not easy getting a boot on my left foot and changing gears fro 4 days back to Blighty.

I’m 6’1” and have no issues getting keks to fit me with my 33” waist :D

Not thing I did notice when buying new bike gear when I came home last August is that BMW clothing is bigger than equivalent sized gear from other manufacturers. I didn’t buy and, didn’t like it, but Mrs P did and her gear was a size smaller.
