Avon Vipers

so let me see if I have this right,!! a couple of you have had "one or two" moments with a particular tyre, so, like all good unbiased crowds you immediately start "panning" a completely different tyre that not a single one of you has ridden on or in fact even seen!!
how about we wait until we have at least seen/ridden on these "new" tyres before our "unbiased" views are aired eh!! :dunno:
cos "IF" they turn out to be "the dogs bollocks" :rolleyes: some on here are going to look pretty stupid arnt they,?? :}
Me, Im going to see what they are like first, IF they are recived well and the concensus from UNbiased riders is good I will be trying them :f

My honest opinion is that I aint had much chance to seriously try them yet..
What with one thing and another the bike has only been outa the garage a few times since Christmas and then only on very local trips..
But a full report will be forth coming very VERY soon !

Im due a set of tyres, Im on avon 45/46, sport/tour tyre, and I have to say will not be buying the Vipers, "would you put on the same tyres as a cbr600 for your big heavy Blackbird" "NO!":t .
I think Avon's 45/46, are the best alround tyre you could possible want for the Blackbird:bow: , I will put my bike on it, (bet) that Avon will bring a bird/busa Viper out within two years:eek: , "due to handling problems with a heavy bike like the Blackbird", If anyone at Avon would like to give me a set to try in every day conditions, Ill try em, and give a honest feed backg0551p . So get in touch.
Im serious.

The new Vipers use exactly the same carcass as was used on the 'B' designated Bird/Busa/ZX12 specific tyres. So in this instance, yes I would put on the same tyres as would be used on a CBR 600 :lick:

Bear in mind the Vipers replace the old SP sports tyres so if mileage is a consideration then obviously they aren't going to last as well. But I find the SP's even better than ST's in all conditions so can't wait to try out the Vipers. I've got a rear already, but am just waiting for the SP on the rear to die before I use it.

And yes to whoever asked, Pete is selling the Vipers

Advantage....

Down at 1200 Pete's last week,

had a good chance to inspect the Vipers,

nice profile, but the biggest advantage I could see

over the tyres I have now..................

his Vipers had a tread on them......... :neenaw:

I'll be buying some as soon as my carcase wears through....... R#?

Know if Petes Selling them :dunno:

We have been selling them for the past couple of weeks now!

Just got the word from the Avon launch in Spain, apparently this tyre really is going to be a winner, it seems the jurno's absolutely loved it.

But like Jaws I have not had the opportunity to try the tyre in anger yet and until I do I have no comment.
