Alternative to Leathers ?

After sweating my little bollox off last summer while touring in my leathers (on the bike of course ) I wondered if any of you lot have ever come across an alternative to leathers. I've got the usual winter kit that has removable liners, but I would have thought someone, somewhere would make a suit that was lightweight, waterproof and could be worn in the summer without creating hazadous waste inside when it gets hot. Don't suppose anyone has found one of the unobtanium suits anywhere ??

Human skin. Cool, breathable but soft.

I wear my sweaty leathers with an undersuit so I can still peel them off my dripping drippy bits. I've described too much already...

I wear an undersuit. Keeps you warm(er) in winter, but equally keeps you cooler in summer.

Mine is one of the Recceca (sp?) which prove difficult to get (they have many problems with their mail order system) but there are other makes out there.

.edz do a sports layer for under your leathers..keeps you cool in the summer
and warmer in the 8ree!.got mine from M+P acessories for ?40...worth every penny.they come in 1 or 2 piece,it's up to you :dunno: but i went for the 2 piece :yo:

Yeah-I'll never wear cordura on it's own,even if it does have armour.
Mi new leathers have air venting zips on the front of the jacket and two on the back-Thus creating an inlet and exhaust effect which lets the air in to cool and escape through the back so as not to inflate the jacket like a barrage ballon.
Was pillion on the back of Bob on Saturday and was cool as an ice cube.
At the end of the day-You'd be hard pressed to find a good substitute to bovine skin.
If I start riding like a nutter when mi steeds back on the road-I know that the donor cattle had BSE......Officer!

BUT go for the one piece - I understand that the two piece thing can leave gaps when in the riding position

.there's no way i'm admitting to being a bloater :t .

the reason i went for the two piece was that you can just wear the bottoms
plus a t shirt if i so wished :dunno: if that will help you decide

A full Kevlar suit is what ya want!

Cool enough in the summer without compromising protection. After my off last year, I wouldn't wear a cordura jacket or trousers on their own ever again :t And it was one recommended by RIDE

As for jackets I have the Hein Gericke Master V (corduroy) and must say I'm happy with it. TOTALLY waterproof, and the padding do work - last year after my dive second point of impact was my shoulder, anti-shearing fabric sheared, but nothing on my shoulder, not even a bruise, so me happy! Only thing crap is the thing around end seam of the neck is in fake leather and cracked, not really acceptable for something this price.

EDZ is the maker. It's a one-piece stretchy suit that you wear under ya leathers and it's supposed to act like thermals in the winter but keep you cool in the summer by wicking sweat away from your skin.

I also wear my leather strides, but it is very rare that i wear the jacket, dont know why just do.

Also takes some beating on the bike,,, have vented pockets front & rear so am cool as a cool thing, 8ree! ,,,, only gets hot at the lights,,,, if you are getting hot in Leather in this country,, then either you are a bloater :} or you are going to slow IMHO of course.
