I wouldn't use that shit on ethical grounds alone. It's also very high in saturated fats.

There's way better oils for cooking, coconut probably being the best because it's stable at very high temperatures. Extra Virgin olive oil is the best for general use like drizzling on salads or pasta but no so good for cooking. It's not heat stable and when subjected to very high temperatures, like in a frying pan, it breaks down into some nasty shit and becomes very not good for you.
Sorry but you are talking absolute bollocks, extra virgin Olive oil is probably the best cooking oil to use at high temps, I often use it for stir fries & it is very stable.

Coconut oil is shit, not healthy as they first thought,
There is some truth in that but it's not shit, far from it. The problem with it is that it's been used by south seas islanders for centuries and they all live healthy lives, don't get fat, don't get cancer, yada yada ya. What 'they' fail to tell you is that these people don't hang around in bars or on street corners drinking, smoking, taking drugs, etc. They lead very active lives and spend their days climbing trees knocking coconuts down, hunting, fishing, etc.

Coconut oil is amazing stuff if used in moderation, coupled with an active lifestyle.

I can't recall seeing movies and holiday snaps full of South Sea islanders frying up a full English with black pudding in coconut oil :risas3::beer-toast1:

I think they are all the same apart from cosmetic changes mate, first produced in 72 I think so it wont be the very first model but thats not a concern for me
I think on the last model (mk3 or S....can't recall which) the barrel axis pin was replaced with a nut and bolt. It had a 2 stage trigger too.

You could be right there john, the pivot and catch were a problem on a few of the earlier break barrel rifles hence the often seen finger under the barrel to keep them closed

I never understood why people don't just repair them :nusenuse: admittedly its not a straight swap to replace a worn pin but its not exactly hard, sharp bit in a pillar drill and a slightly oversized roll pin does the job a treat, from what my mate says i suspect this one needs doing but i wont be loosing sleep over it
