Thanks CBRDEANO, I will try bypassing the tilt switch. Also going to take off the loom fix and and start testing all the earths.

Odd one this, Iggy.

Hi Centaur, annoyingly the fuel pump and control all tested ok, when bridged it still cuts out/F1 light comes on.

Sh8t.

One further thing I noticed is if you leave the bike at the point you would hit the starter (i.e when its ready to start with the F1 light out) the relay clicks and the F1 light comes on after a few seconds (i.e without being started).

Fuel cut off relay, I assume.

Seems something is triggering the ECU, running or not running, to cut the engine?but it does not log it as a fault.

CBRDEANO may well have a point with the tilt switch. That would not show as a fault. IMHO.

We just need a kind individual to drop his bike on it's side and tell us exactly what happens when he tries to start the bike on it's side! 8rfl@

Hurra Fixed!

I stripped back the previous loom fix and found it pretty shabby and wet. Re-soldered all the earths together there and also soldered a cable between the red and green connector from the tilt switch.

Started up straight away and problem gone. I removed the tilt switch bridge and so far it is behaving, ordered a spare switch from the breakers just in case.

It could have just been the tilt switch but I think a weak earth was contributing to the problem making it hard to spot.

Anyway thanks a ton for all the suggestions and getting me back on the road!!

Glad you're sorted, Iggy.

Well done Deano. Now we know what happens if you try to start your BB on her side. :-0)

Thank you for posting a happy resolution - it's amazing how many can't be arsed doing this simple thing that might one day help others
