not necessarily the first bike you owned, but the first one you rode legally.

Mine was a 1957 Royal Enfield 350 Bullet that I was sold as a 250 !
This one is posher than mine which I hand painted British racing green :)

This looks like the one. Long time ago, 1950 or thereabouts. The bike was a 30s model. James 1.jpg James 1.jpg

H100s brand new in 1980 aged 17, that lasted about 6 months before I got a new Z250

I never bothered with 50's at 16 as I'd seen too many mates stuck with them through lack of cash & I'd already been riding much bigger stuff from a very early age

My first bike was a BMW F650GS. Owned it 3 months, 2 of which it spent back at the garage being fixed under warranty. After about the fifth repair I asked for my money back.

The first proper bike I had and kept was a CBR1000F. Loved it and still regret selling it.

I was never ‘into’ bikes until later in life so my first one in about 1997-98 was a 125 Cagiva Elephant.
Great little commuter for a tall man !
Soon afterwards tho I discovered bigger engined bikes could be equally as much fun but less like an angry bee in a bottle !

James Cadet 150cc AMC engine.
I think thr Villiers engine was better.

It came without damper on back but I came across one and when fitted it made a huge difference.
Didn't have 2 tone tank.

upload_2018-2-21_19-22-28.jpegAriel Arrow, 4 years old , £60.00, smooth as silk, smoked like buggery, brakes crap, but what does a spotty 16 year old care. Kept it for about 4 years, even when I had bigger bikes, Velo Venom, Thunderbird, Triumph 110. Remembered with affection, empty pockets and skinned knuckles.

Mine was a new Suzi GT125. 1975. Brand new, purchased it on the never never as I needed transport for shifts.
I crashed on the way home as I had never ridden a geared bike before.
