I hope you enjoy the new site ................ Jaws ( John )
H100s brand new in 1980 aged 17, that lasted about 6 months before I got a new Z250
I never bothered with 50's at 16 as I'd seen too many mates stuck with them through lack of cash & I'd already been riding much bigger stuff from a very early age
My first bike was a BMW F650GS. Owned it 3 months, 2 of which it spent back at the garage being fixed under warranty. After about the fifth repair I asked for my money back.
The first proper bike I had and kept was a CBR1000F. Loved it and still regret selling it.
I was never ‘into’ bikes until later in life so my first one in about 1997-98 was a 125 Cagiva Elephant.
Great little commuter for a tall man !
Soon afterwards tho I discovered bigger engined bikes could be equally as much fun but less like an angry bee in a bottle !
Suzuki gt250 brand new 1974, PKF 601M, £540 on the road, tax, insurance and Centurian open face helmet, never ridden a motorcycle in my life, picked it up and had to learn how to get it home by riding it
Ariel Arrow, 4 years old , £60.00, smooth as silk, smoked like buggery, brakes crap, but what does a spotty 16 year old care. Kept it for about 4 years, even when I had bigger bikes, Velo Venom, Thunderbird, Triumph 110. Remembered with affection, empty pockets and skinned knuckles.
Just realised first LEGAL road bike. Sorry John. That was a 350 cc EX WD Matchless. Reg number was XG 9138. Have a piccie on one of my many defunct hard drives.
Mine was a new Suzi GT125. 1975. Brand new, purchased it on the never never as I needed transport for shifts.
I crashed on the way home as I had never ridden a geared bike before.
