Cut the grass, ran the scarifier over it and got three dump bags full of thatch. Just finished as the rain started.

Now pleasantly knackered, back aching and waiting for delivery of the fry up (without any frying) that I can smell and hear being prepared.

Went to my mums for a coffee. They had a pergola delivered a while ago, so my step dad & me spent the next 3 hours putting it up on their decking while my mum & Mrs L supervised.

At least it got ne out of weeding & mowing my lawn for a few days anyway.

Lunch at garden centre, really good.

Needless to say I also left £84 down due to various green things being purchased ‘while we are here’

Today…oh that terracotta bowl would look really nice on top of that old chimney pot in the garden if we stick some nice annuals in it.

Turns out it is exactly the same as the one that is there already that does indeed look nice.

So I suppose in a way ‘someone’ was right.

Rather amusingly I had a telephone call from the production company that, er, produces a long running TV show about building houses. This on the back of my contacting them in 2021 to see if they were interested in the house I was planning to have built and not hearing from them.

They were a little surprised when I told them that after demolishing what was left of the house that was on the plot I sold it. I also pointed out to them it is now 2024.

Shame really, as there is decent money to be had from appearing in these programmes - not life changing, but decent.

As an aside the plot remains untouched with the same planning in place as when I sold it.
