The shower in the main bathroom started dripping…quick call to the manufacturer who advised no ‘user serviceable parts’ but we can send an engineer out to fix it…£600. + vat. Bit of digging round on the interwebs reveal the dripping is a common problem…not great for an expensive six year old shower.

I called Pelham Pumps who have been extremely helpful in the past…..’That's cobblers, we can supply the two top hat seals that need replacing plus we would suggest replacing the o rings at the same time, whole lot for £48 plus we have a video in YouTube how to do it, all you need is a cross head and small flat screwdriver’.

Even though the o ring kit is seven o rings and costs £18 which is ludicrous I am very happy with the outcome.

Put an offer in on the worst house in the best road in this lovely town, near France, not expecting it to be accepted but it’s been on the market for about six months with vacant possession ……nothing ventured. Needs a LOT of work….Why anybody would build a house on a huge plot in a brilliant location with the third of only three bedrooms measuring 9x7, one bathroom and no downstairs loo is beyond me.

But it has a massive double garage…and workshop…… :ole:

Met up with another stirling fella from this here parish, fit a couple bits on the bike. Was a happy chappy.
Whilst in the sun, thought id throw the new shorty levers on..... they dont fit.

As im a clever fella, I ordered bird levers despite the fact I have vfr bars and cylinders. Bellend! Sulking so sacked it.

Now sat in cabin at work tryna avoid work!

Been working today and onto nights tomorrow :(

As we seem to have a bit of a shower thing going on........

We're almost at the end of a refurbish.
Downstairs cloakroom, en-suite and bathroom.
Cloakroom is just floor tiling, toilet and hand basin.
Bathroom and en-suite is complete rip out with everything replaced, including the bathroom floor. Floor tiles, wall tiles etc.
Shower units in both are Bristan with both normal and rainfall shower heads.
Taps are all Grohe.

It's looking like it might all be finished next week :)

Meanwhile the builder knows he's onto a good thing and has been plying 'er indoors with kitchen brochures and I'm getting my ear bent.

IMG_0521.jpegIMG_0524.jpegLovely couple of hours wandering round the beautiful Sheffield Park Courtesy of NT membership.

Only downside is the cost of entry…...£17.60 for non NT members. Seems an awful lot to wander round a park.

Went to meet my "mentee" today for chat and coffee. Perfect day for Burgervan except I went to visit a friend and had to drive into the sun on way home.Screenshot_20240510_215824_Gallery.jpg

Picked up my Mrs and her workmate from Gatwick aurport
Got moaned at …. As I was waiting in arrivals !!
And they were in arrivals in the other terminal !
Of course she didn’t say which terminal she would arrive at …. And I’m in the wrong as I should know ….
Despite me being under a huge sign that said ‘INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS’ …. I was in the wrong place !! They flew in from Spain (which is obviously ‘international’ ???
It’s a quick train trip on a shuttle train to the other terminal …. AND then I got moaned at as I had parked too far away !!! It was the only spot available (floor 4 !)

Next time I will be too busy !

Two hours free parking in the long stay car parks. I go in South and wait there, telling them which stop to get off at. It’s quicker for those arriving in North to get to the South car park even allowing for the shuttle transfer.

Bolted the wooden sleepers back to get her after Mrs B kindly painted them during the week.

Amazing how things that were perfect when ‘dry fitted’ never go back quite the same when disassembled then reassembled.

Still looks good though.
