Just out of interest, can I ask all the ‘I could have been PM but I decided on a different career path’ souls on here if they think that a) there has ever been a good PM In their lifetime and B) who would make a good PM now?

I am really, really curious.

We're in a knock down world.
Media just waiting for opportunity to knock the individual.
Previous record of any good work is wiped to please the masses that they have whipped up.

Not as simple as that either.
But we are very fickle.

I think there's been a few good PMs.

Unfortunately they've only been good for part of their time!

I think someone who might well have made a really good PM would have been Tony Benn.

The Benn tapes are an interesting listen.

In my opinion the person who would make the best PM is Dan Jarvis however he has stated he doesn’t want the job, I think it’s one of those jobs that only self serving egotists crave & the few decent honest politicians steer well clear of.

a) Mrs T, David Cameron

b) Ben Wallace. Also, Kemi Badenoch but in about ten years, if she carries on the way she’s going. Excellent prospect, just a little too young and inexperienced at this time.

Never heard of him. I think Andy Burnham would be a good leader for Labour.

Right now we need Maggie back and I'm willing to dig her up.

We've got problems with Putin, the EU and a weak American president, plus the two eejits in the devolved parliaments.... bread and butter to her.

Well Liz Truss had said she has no intention of helping people out, apart that is from her rich friends who will benefit most from tax cuts
