I have been touring Spain and France for years now. I own a XX and have taken it to the max. I have never been stopped, but I guess it's just a matter of time. I think you just have to be sensible about it. When you're out in the sticks then nob it. If you are near a major town/city then chill out a bit.
The way I look at it is is that if you get a fine then it's gotta be worth it for the fun you are having.
If you get the chance then take the N132 from Jaca toward Huesca. It's my most favourite road in the world. Ride it and you'll see why.

Much, much, much better roads within a few clicks of the N132, but each to their own.

You will of course be travelling FASTER than any car & I know not what I'm talking about and you shouldn't have any hesitation about playing with the locals on local roads.
Good luck

a click is a term I've always used for a kilometre - hence 100 clicks / 100kmh
The term comes from wartime days - the artillery range finders they used made a click sound for every 1000 metres they were ranging. The operator just counted the clicks to get the range so the gunner could make his adjustments.

A mine of useless information me.........

I think DS was trying to suggest you knew more than him....

I think what he was trying to say was there are a few locals (in cages) who tend to exceed the speed limits and who also enjoy driving the lovely roads out there.

It probably wouldn't be a good idea to try to keep up with them.

HTH?

Yeah, I guess the N132 is a popular one, but when you get such a great mix of fast twisties, stunning rock formations and that belter of a straight just before you get into Huesca, well you can see why it's my fave.
I am off again in May. Me and the boys plan to take a different route heading south from Santander to Cordoba and then back up the other side. I you or anyone else knows of some must do roads then I would love to hear about them.

It's your fave, Then good for you mate, but it's all relative isn't it? i.e. it's your fave compared to what you've ridden - respect!
