Hi Guys,

I need some new downpipes for my baby bird (CBR600), and have found these on ebay from Sandy Bike Spares.

I was just wondering if anyone has bought any downpipes from there, and whether they were any good.

They're a bloody good price.

Thanks.

I know some guys who have bought downpipes from Sandy Bike Spares for their TDM's and they have had big alignment issues when attaching to the head or alternatively if fitted into the head the end of the downpipe under the bike is at completely the wrong angle.
Might be different for other bikes but i'd be wary.
I think Delkevic are renowned for being a good oe replacement.

Well there is a surprise !!
I would STRONGLY suggest you rethink as the Delkevic pipes are currently under review ..
They WILL melt your fairing, bits WILL drop off them, they WILL put your bike so far out of tune it will cost a fortune in rolling road time and rejetting to sort out

This is not a one time maybe thing, it is something I am dealing with on a very regular basis

Only two days ago I was called by a chap with this exact scenario
The supplier admitted there was a BIG problem and ( to the suppliers credit ) supplied a set of genuine Honda pipes and gaskets as a direct exchange for the faulty item

Phew! Good job I can't get Delkevic ones then!

What about the Sandy Bike Spares ones? Any views on theirs?

I have used Sandy Bike spares down pipes and i have not had any problems at all with them, i bought the S/S ones about 4 weeks after i bought the bike, up to this point I had never fitted down pipes to any bike and to be honest it was piss easy the only problem was 3 studs unscrewing but they fitted great and I still have them on , no flat spot, no problems, the guy I bought them off was so helpful it was a breath of fresh air to be honest.

Yes please! p0pc0rn41

Thought I'd have a dabble. I've been looking at big birds, and like what I see. So, should my baby bird ever need replacing...

Thanks guys (and Artemis). I'll be placing my order today.

Although I'm quite enjoying the loud backfires I'm getting at the moment. Frightened a load of school kids this morning! :-0):shooter:

I always had Micron cans and pipes on my CBR6's, usually after crashing the original ones. h1d1ng2

Update:

The downpipes from Sandy Bike Spares are entertaining to say the least.

Flat as hell up to 4K, where she leaps forwards until she hits 6.5K. At this point she hits another flat spot so hard that my balls hit the tank. When she cracks 9K, the acceleration is amazing. I just can't keep the front wheel down in 1st to 3rd when she makes that transition.

But to Sandy's credit, they just said send 'em back for a full refund.

So I've done the decent thing and ordered a set of Motad pipes. Twice the price, but my balls are worth it.

just watch the fit on the motads, mine are very feckin close to the rightside fairing and they come out at a slight angle thus widening the the tail of the exhaust out.

Lumpy...

Shouldn't the L be replaced with a GR?

Slap a Bastard on the end, and there he is!

AND...

Would I be correct in saying that you ride a Fazer?

How on earth can you say anything bad about ANY Honda, when you ride a piece of crap like that!?

Bleedin' Yamaha riders. Pah!
