Just read the whole thread again. Can somebody tell me how adjusting the chain would stop a bike running wide in a corner or bend ???:dunno::dunno:

Serious question.....I might learn something here.

Perhaps the rear wheel was well out of alignment and when he adjusted the chain it put the rear wheel back into alignment:eek: Just a thought, but i dont know if the rear wheel being out of alignment would cause a bike to run wide.

Well if you had of told us you were coming and paid us some money then I would of stopped! Te he! Just jokin Hun.....with you! The rest I wholeheartedly mean :)[/quote.

I didn't know if I could get there Mel so it was a last moment thing. If you wanted money you should have at least shown some concern when I was in a vulnerable situation. I would have paid just for your company the hour before the AA turned up. Go on, feel guilty, as you should.

You couldn't afford me hunni, I'm thinner now and so command a higher price! LOL!

I'm going to milk this. hehehehe

It would certainly affect the steering and make it tune quicker one way than the other I would think???

easy steve.

rear wheel as far forward as poss, chain hangs very low, lean into a bend it could hit the deck, thus dont lean too far thus causing a wider arc ie running wide, so adjust chain to correct spec and it no longer can hit the ground thus tighter arc thus not running wide, but none of the above applies to your bike cause first of all you have to get it back from the shop, secondly its easier to steer the thing rather than trying to drag it down and lastly the running boards touch down after 5 degrees anyways.

Running wide in a corner......too much speed, not enough lean, read the corner wrong, panicked and grabbed a handful of front brake, on the throttle before seeing the corner exit clearly......yep, I can understand all of them (done most of them myself !!) but chain adjustment ??? :dunno:

Right ya bastid.......the bike ain't in a shop, it's sitting in my garage hooked up to the Optimate. It handles lovely, new Progressive front springs and Progressive 440IAS rear shocks make sure of that. The floorboards have been modified to tip up if they drag in corners.....no chrome left on the underside of 'em now !!!!:-0)

Next project......998cc bore and stroke kit !!!!:-0):lick:

Fancy a breakfast one Sunday ????:dunno:
