Hi, i have told Doc about the meet and he and his misses should both attend and maybe even me but am located in Newport Pagnell so have further to go but....

Just to confirm it is Hunstanton on Sunday 2nd @11ish yeah?

What about Grafham Water, just off the A14 west of Huntingdon. We could meet at the A1 /A14 services, ride to a pub that I know is near Grafham and do the pie and pint thing again.

Any where, makes no difference to me personally, but this might be a bit more central .............

Nice one, Mikew, that would be better for me also the roads are better arround there B661 and B660. Good idea but we will have to see if the others will bite. I know it seems like we are having probs arranging a meet but we are the virgin turnip crunchers at the mo. :beer:

Given we are talking about east Anglia, I do not think there is ANYWHERE further that about 100 miles from anywhere else !
And Bubba, Ipswich is 40 minutes from Thetford, and Hunstanton is about 40 to 50 minutes from here ..
A14 to Bury St Eds.. A134 to Thetford, A134 to Kings Lynn, A149 up to Hunstanton.. When you get to hunstanton, take the first exit off the first roundabout you come to. Down a hill to a small roundabout and take the 2nd exit which will lead you along the sea front in a northerly direction. When you get to the shops, watch out for a BIG green on the left hand side.. Twixt the shops and the green turn left.. as you turn left there is a ramp on the right hand side of the road which leads on to the 'front'. take that and park up with all the other bikes !

Right, just checked out the maps, Grafham Water looks like is more centeral.

If we are all agreed, location will be switched to Grafham Water. Perhaps leave the Hunstanton run till the slightly warmer climes kick in, (I KNOW what Norfolks like in the depths of winter and it aint feckin' fun!).

Right, location sort of decided. What about meeting point, there and on the way, and times?? Perhaps the Alconbury services for those of us near cambridge, meet for 10ish? As for there, I take it we'll meet at the Visitors center, (Or whaterver autoroute shows it as!), say 11:00?? Gis all a chance to get there.

Then its over to local knowledge.

if my understanding is correct, we are heading for :=

Grafham Water, at the Visitor Centre, on Sunday 2 February (this year !!:} for 11.00

and some peeps are meeting up at the :=

Macdonalds at Alconbury (the one that looks like the Starship Enterprise bridge) at 10.00

before riding onto Grafham for 11.00.


SMUDGER, RICHARD and anyone else from the Peterborough area, if you want to ride down together, shall we meet at Riossi (formerly Carnells) at 09.15?.
I will be at Riossi at 0900
(assuming there is not a requirement for a guy called Noah to start doing a repeat of his famous boat !)

OK should be there probably just the visitor center unless i stay with doc saturday (separate beds BTW).

Just as a footnote

Just clocked the weather up in the East Anglian region for the next few days. Snow has been forcast from wednesday through to saturday afternoon.

If this is the case, I shall not be attending, done the riding in snow bit and I cant say I enjoyed it. On a personal note, I dont think its worth risking our safety for the sake of a meet somewhere in the middle of no-where.
