Had a couple over the years. Last was an E46 320D with the M sport pack. Despite being well cared for and at 7 years old with 50k on it the rear arches rotted out. Bmw repaired this and 12 months later the front arches rotted, again repaired under warranty. However it didn’t give up! It then decided to corrode around the boot lid. Box of shite, swirl flaps (ooer) had to be removed for safety of the engine too. Whereas my Czechoslovakian steed is now 13 years old. Runs and drives very well and has not decided to shrink.

You clearly said "just the first clip".

Secondly, how do you know the second one is a diesel?
It is the first clip.

It is the one before the second clip.

It is obviously a diesel as the driver would have to be stupid to park where he parked. Also the front windows are heavily tinted so nobody could see who was stupid enough to own a diesel. Saves putting a paper bag over the head.

No, just no. Looking at the car (old BMW = steak and kidney lock opener) and the vicinity is was parked, it probably belongs to a drug dealer. They're not savvy enough to drive diesels.

Sometimes it is better to hold your hands up and say 'whoops I got that wrong' rather than trying to,defend the indefensible.

Your bmw dealer will love you as well. According to the chap I dealt with when buying my son's bmw diesel sales have plummeted. Other than fleet sales. And travelling salesmen deserve diesels.

My ex boss got rid of his BMW last year because the sills were starting to rust at less than a year old. On a separate issue why did VW not have to pay compensation in Europe as it did in the US?

Old news; diesel sales have been on the decline for the past two years. Like I said, I love diesels and tits to what anyone else thinks.

Like I said in a previous thread, BMs have a 12 year anti-corrosion warranty, which clearly makes it a warranty issue. Your boss should have got it fixed under warranty and then got rid.

I have to say, I'm deeply sceptical about ANY new car having corrosion issues at just one year old. I would even go as far as to say that in the majority of those cases, the cause can be attributed to the owner. As an example, one might scrape, say, a gate post and render a panel down to bare metal. Said driver doesn't bother to get it repaired and subsequently wonders why, after the first road salting of the winter, the panel starts dissolving.
