Hi there

Birdies are flippin awesome through twisties - although if you have been riding a full on sports model, I would guess it might take some getting used to - but just knowing that it can do it should be enough to give you the confidence to go play. Definitely a fab choice for cruising or playing. Give it a go!!!!!!!!! :yo: :yo: :yo:

:yo: Birds are the bogs dollocks at handling....At first you might find it a tad heavy when entering corners but after a while its almost comforting coz it feels stable.....Have just bought my 2nd Bird literally this weekend....brand new outa the shop and I already luv it stupid although not quite got the confidence as I had on my old one but you can appreciate I dont want to throw it down the road

thanks for the advice ive got a thundercat at the moment which ive had for 2 years but in the last 12 months my partner has really taken to being pillion and wants to do big trips to the lake district and beyond for a week or more . The cat doesnt quite cut it so the blackbird seems suitable despite my mates telling me its an 'old' mans bike (im only 27) but i think it will be perfect:yo:

Yup - I saw it described as an old man's bike cos its the bike mature men buy; it looks sensible but handles well and does 180ishmph!! think the phrase written was - the bike your dad buys when he's trying to persuade your mum he's buying a sensible bike (big pillion seat supposedly = sensible!)!!!

It's all b$ll$cks really - I've had a BBird for 4 years, and I still get people telling me that they are handle rubbish round corners - even when I dont have any chicken strips!! And with the last one being Pink and having no Honda or BBird markings, it was amusing when people realised it was that bike that doesn't handle - that your dad is supposed to buy!!!!!!!!!!

So - basically - ignore them and see if they can catch you through the twisties!!!!!!!!!!!! :k:k:k

Well, people saying is just for the oldies then youve gotta wonder why then that SOME like me ,having just passed the 40 mark are willing to go out and buy a 180mph machine....maybe some will say its trying to hang on to youth or going thru mid-life crisis but at the end of the day,we are alive and still enjoying our biking days safely.....Hence a BBird

Yup agree with Smix (of course:lick:) they handle really well; sure they're not as nimble as a Blade/R1 but then you aint gonna get the missis on the back of one of them (I tried :xm).

They handle even better if you stuff a little 6mm spacer under the rear shock (check out the other threads for this mod) and make sure it has either Avon Storms or Bridgesones on it (love the Avons myself), before I did these mods to mine (had continentals on when I bought it) the handling was OK but nothing special, now I'd challenge pretty much anyone to get away from me :yo:

No Smixsy, I,m not trying to put him off, what I,m saying is that my first Blackbird I had when I was only 31 and I,ve had plenty of scratching with other fast bikes so I actually meant to say you will live longer due to its remarkable stability and handl......Oh bolox, I give up and admit I,m rambling
