I know for a fact that the resort they stayed in had a full creche facility and babysitting service.... which amazingly they didnt use.

In my opinion the father definately had something to do with what happened... i'm sure it will all come out in the wash... and hopefully the paper will be exonerated...

Fair comment Keith, lots of people are saying that. But on what information do you personally base your suspicions... :dunno: Can you elaborate at all....

That is a very good point Sam, but many parents would not leave little ones with unknown people, even in an organised environment like that. Some parents just wouldn't impart that amount of trust in third parties.

Whilst that does strengthen the irresponsibility issue of the McCanns leaving the kids alone, it isn't indicative of their involvement in Madeleines disappearance as there still doesn't appear to be any motive. I'm sure if there was any hint of motive the Portuguese Police would have made them arguido's at the very least, so that they could impose travel restrictions on them to stop them doing a runner.

I'm a bit surprised so few people have contributed to this thread. Hasn't anyone got anything more to say about the whole situation other than the odd "their guilty - hang 'em" comments.

That couple in Portugal who have had one of their children abducted...I just cannot imagine their grief. I know the instant horror and panic I have momentarily felt when I have lost sight of my sprog for a split second...God knows what they're going through.


Still can't imagine what Ben Needhams Mam and Dad are still going through.


However...getting back to the serious bit...my neighbours cousins hairdresser has a friend who lives near the resort and she swears blind that this bloke was seen lurking near the McCanns apartment window just 5 minutes before the alarm was raised.I hope this is not true....

I'm happy to post bollocks about bollocks but on a real life issue like this where I, like I believe everyone else, actually KNOWS nothing apart from the fact that a little girl is missing then speculation is best left to the newspapers.

There are a couple of theings we know for sure about this case


1. They left three very small (under three years old) children alone in the appartment.

2. They spend a lot of time separated from their two other children as they travel the world.


For the first they should be investigated , anyone who leaves young children alone under these circumstances, and thinks that it's OK really needs to be pulled up short.

Unfortunately whether you like/dislike them is irrelevant as thefacts of the case are unknown not only to us but also all of the newspapers.

It is pure speculation.

the one thing i still find hard to get my head round is..if i`d had one of my children taken, the others would NEVER be out of my sight.......I have never seen either mum or dad with the remainng two kiddies ?????????

I dont know about anyone else but the reason I dont want to comment is because there is very little actual confirmed evidence to discuss apart from the fact that the McCanns left 3 small kiddies alone. Madelaine was either abducted by a peedo, snatched by someone who desperately wanted a child or wandered off through the unlocked patio door and disappeared. She may have then been picked up by a stranger or fallen down say an old well or wandered off to the beach and been swept out to sea.

Its nice to be in a position where they can afford to take so much time away from their work to 'search' for Maddie. Most families who have kiddies go missing can probably only manage a few more weeks before financial neccesity forces them to return to earning a living!

Im appalled that they didnt use the creche facilities at the hotel. They didnt trust the creche staff but were prepared to sod off for the evening to the pub and leave the kiddies on their own!!!! The phrase irresponsible parents springs to mind!

quite an emotive subject to comment on: whilst I condemn the parents for leaving such young children alone even for a short time, how can people assume they dont care because they appear to be so composed when they face the press? I am sure in such a situation most people would go onto automatic pilot, be totally numbed.

There are also lots of people who prefer not to bare their emotions for public scrutiny.

However, having had one child abducted I am not sure I would be able to let the others out of my presence even for a second.

The wild speculation in the press (and even on here) does nothing to enhance the situation: but then sadly there will always be people who find 'humour' in other people's misfortunes

The thing which I cant get over is the fact if my kid had been kidnapped my eyes would like p*ss holes in the sand be lucky if I could get any sleep at all, but right from the start the McCanns have looked fresh as daisys everyday on tv! I agree with earlier comments that they should at some point be charged with neglect.

I think , based purely on the interviews I've seen of them on TV , that they are far too composed . Ignoring all the speculation from the media , and just forming my own opinion I wont be at all surprised if it eventually emerges that they are directly involved , either by covering up an accident of some kind or something much more sinister.

Right now I don't know what to think. Four months on and Madeleine is still missing. What happened to the DNA test results on the blood sample that was sent to Birmingham? That wasn't speculation as it was reported everywhere........

Heard about that just the other day Sam on the BBC radio news.... blood tests were, thus far, inconclusive and unable to produce any data (or words to that effect, I can't recall precisely).

I can believe it tho' i think some sort of accident happend probably as a result of too much alcohol maybe because she wouldnt settle down and then they made some bad decisions again because of drink and have tried to cover it up by leaving the patio doors unlocked and saying what theyre saying etc! They might have even sedated the other 2 kids to keep them quiet! It could so easily be this way as i know there are doubters and rightly so!

The whole media thing has probably gone further than they wanted but its run away with them and they dont know when to stop or how to stop it.....its a farse!

Hope i'm wrong.....poor little Maddy what ever happened!

How would anyone react to becoming a patient of the McCann's? I would ask to be referred to someone else. I don't think I could be civil to them.
