It's a bloody long drive from Pinderville Eds, as you know. By the time I finish work and get up there it'll be nearly 10pm too.

The last time I made the effort (and on the imaginary Bird), some twat on a TL thou rammed me.

I need to take an afternoon off to reasonably do it and as I referee on Sat morns I can stay up there either.

Er, I need to consult the book for better excuses.

Jan & I are stopping at The Moss Cottage Hotel on Nottingham road in Ripley... Its only 10 miles from Matlock, and its an extremely good place to stay. Brekkie is wonderful, very clean, and the hospitality is good too...

Otherwise try any in Matlock, but dont use the The Temple Hotel, 200yds from the Fishponds pub. Its very expensive, the floors are all bumpy & sloping, and the beds are feckin lumpy (not our Mr. Mac, before the replies start coming in )

When we stayed there last time I left a T shirt in the room by mistake. About 4 days later it arrived in the post, washed and ironed, and impeccably packged with a little note stating they hoped it arrived safely! Top people.

What Blackbird, only got an ER 5 matey, although that'll do over 70 (just) and that's as fast as we are allowed to go in this country.

It's more the timings Stan, the fact that Durex won't be there does make it more appealing though

I'm really really looking forward to Friday!!!! Nearly all went wrong when my Dad tried to change our lunch date (the reason I'm in Manchester) from Friday to Thursday, but managed to persuade him to ask the other person to change instead - Lunch with his daughter is surely more important than lunch with some senior business blokey!!! (and I told him he'd have to find me somewhere to stay for both thurs and firiday nights!!!!)
