The two Travel Lodges are both quite a way out of 'The Lakes'
One at the Motorway services, south of the Lakes. So other than Burger King the bevvies will be a long taxi ride away.
The other at Penrith, can't remember exactly where abouts.

Perhaps B&B in The Lakes may be more favourable and then the munchies and mouth-wash will be within walking distance.

Me and Sandra will probably meet you up there Sat am, and stay up there overnight on the Saturday.

B and B

B and B for Pete & I please - think Rolfy has already spoken to you about Bowness being The Place To Be on a Saturday night (except possibly, the chip shop .... LOL) Our thoughts were also that the Travelodges would be too far away, and in any case the one at Penrith hasn't any ?30 rooms left cos I looked - now ?49.95!!!!! Although depending on where 'we are thinking of riding' dunno if Bowness will be central for the best roads?

Some of the cheaper places tend to be farms '4 miles from the nearest village' or whatever which I would suggest, is not what we want - eats and drinks within reasonable staggering distance, preferably!

Over to anyone who has good knowledge of the area???

By choice, a double en suite but twin OK if not, and should en suite not be available, also OK.

Cheers

Jenny

King size suite please....

for me & Jan..

Jacuzzi & hot tub en suite if possible.

Sex swing would be good, but not an absolute necessity (could be though)

Waterbed. Double shower enclosure. mirrors on ceiling.

Lots of available totty as a back up in case Jan puts her back out...:k

plenty of champagne & strawberries & cream in the fridge...

That should just about cover it...

Best wishes,

Rolfy & Jan

I feel sure that if we stay somewhere that has a garden they could probably make arrangments for your tent. LOL

Personally speaking as one who has slept under canvas most wekends summer and winter when I was extremely dedicated to my carp fishing I would not have a problem with it. Jenny on the other hand is pretty difficult to live with if she is cold! So for the sake of maritial harmony I for one choose the soft option!

Notice there was no reference to Camping!

Don't even go there!!! c7u8 c7u8

aha...so at last someone speaks the true word:blush:
as im sure everyone following the thread knows..if it was just guys, camping would not be a problem(not the bert sort of camping!)
its because of the lesser sex us poor blokes have to give up the delights of sitting round a single gas stove telling the old stories of near misses under the stars bevvie in hand etc
oh well if it must be spose we will have to put up with the feathers coming through the pillow slips and that damm horrid warm capet under the tootsies in the mornings
spose the next step will be drying out the gloves on the radiators:rolleyes: man8um

Don't forget the horrible three course cooked breakfast that we will have to endure as well every morning! Won't taste half as good as a hot tin of beans eaten with some dry bread and a spoon will it!
