Lovely to see everyone today..

A total of about 18 bikes... we have been told it looked the dogs bo**ox leaving Craven Arms this morning..

Weather couldnt have been better... Glorious sunshine for 98% of the day... Just a little light cloud when leaving LLandovery.

Many thanks to AJ for being "Tail end Charlie" for the first half of the day, and looking after Bod when he became ill on route.

And a big apology for me getting my hair off with him

Then mucho apologies to Lacey for leaving her behind at our house this morning when we thought she had gone straight to the Cafe.....

Sorry to Ant & debz who waited for nearly an hour at newtown, & finally met us with us for a ride through the welsh countryside.

Thanks to everyone who attended.

It really made our weekend.

Hope to see you all again real soon.

No doubt loads of incriminating pics will follow...

wassup with MMs bike dave ?
Some kind of electrical glitch... Kept cutting the starter in & out when running... Could have been very nasty & locked the rear whell under power...

Went home on the recovery vehicle from leominster.

Hope you had a great Easter.

Cheers,

Rolfy

I is home at last! Very nice man, very, very nice man brought me home, along with his very, very, very, nice well endowed Thai girlfriend!! Ask AJ (he seemed to be more intent on cuddling her than help the recovery guy and me get the bike on the truck)...

Bloody electrics! Looks like the FI block mod will need to be done, then an investigation into an odd clunky sound in the engine that is intermittent and disappears when pulling in the clutch (sprag clutch, starter motor?)... Maybe something to do with me missing a gear when changing down the box en route to Llandovery? I heard a crunch, whipped in the clutch, changed back up again, and the bike continued on its way. Albeit, in hindsight, as if the chain was a little slack... Any suggestions.... Don't say new gearbox time...

Anyhow, what riding I did do was very enjoyable and it was good to see so many new faces (not that I'll remember all the names by the time we meet up again). And the weather at least was on our side.

Hope to see you all again soon.

Regards

Cheers for the day out again dave & jan. See ya again soon I hope.
Bodmin hope your shoulder fixes up
Just like to echo the thanks to Dave and Jan. Also thanks harv, the shoulder easing up a bit, hope I can get it sorted for the SOSB. I stopped off at the Stag at Redhill (on A46 between Stratford Upon Avon & Eversham) for a break, the Landlord, when noticing my leathers, asked what Bike i had. When i told him, he said he has a 'Bird also. He says all bird riders are VERY welcome, only he dont want the stag to become an outright 'bikers pub' .

I's home too!!!! Extremities very very cold!! beat the Tomtom recommended time of arrival (couldn't possibly say by how much!!! hehe!) - fingers are defrosting slowly, and currently trying to persuade the cat to snooze at the bottom end of the sofa to assist in deforsting my tozez!!!

What a great day. I can't remember all the names of everyone I've met!! Sorry!! But fab to see known faces and great to meet new.

Thanx lots to Rolfy for persuading me to come out (was going to wuss out cos of the starting distance, amoungst other things, but couldn't really when MM said he was riding past from Weymouth!). And the BBQ after was definitely worth the trip!! Bambi Burgers mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Looking forward to seeing lots of you at the SOSB.

MM - hope your bike is sorted soon - thank goodness for Relay!!!! :}:}

Big hugs to all

MAN on the PAN
As it happens i was in Wales today for bimble but kept getting held back by bloody Bird riders .Decided to have a coffee at the dove and just my luck so did they :bang:
Noisy lot they were but i suppose they haven't been out all winter so were letting off a bit of steam .One chap was handing out easter eggs so it would have been rude not to accept (cheers Bodmin) but what a bunch of misfits , one even ran marathons just how sick is that  . It also appears that they had been playing " hide n seek " apparently what you do is leave one guy at a junction ( Iam call it the drop off system) and then the group go off in two different directions and he has to wait 30 mins and then come and find them . :dunno: There was one cruiser style bike with them that had an excellent light set-up and the owner wore a hi-viz jacket obviously the only real biker and possibly the leader . There were a couple of girlie biker groupies at the dove and it would have been rude not to accept a cuddle and a kiss from them :yo: and a Welsh bloke called Stun or Stan that was there doing the same for the poofs .
But all in all a good day out i reckon

Good to meet you all really
Cheers to Rolfy & Jan for organising the event :yo:

Ps Just how did you get the handle "Speedy?"

Oh what a brilliant day, many many thanks to Rolfy & Jan for the organisation and for the Bambi burgers and the end of the day.

It was great to see some old faces (Eddie)again, even if you do ride an old mans bike, and some midland virgins (To many to mention)who travelled from afar to sample some of the delights we have to offer from here.

We even met up with the only 2 gays in the village,
Nice to see you again Stan,Pete.

Well done to AJ who like the mother hen he is, looked after Bodmin and brought him round the route safe and well,to the expence of speedy who was left at Builth Wells wondering why everyone had left him behind, well it is a fireblade and did look out of place with all those beautiful birds,(only joking m8).We had a little bit of fun towards the end didn't we !!!

Lets look forward to many more days like this, and all you midland virgins out there come and sample the delights we have to offer from this area, great riding and great company

See you all soon g0nn3

Aaaahhhh. A good night's sleep (got in way past my bedtime last night!) and six miles of putting-one foot-in-front-of-the-other-quite-quickly (Rolfy, it's called running, good fun too - honest), big mug of cappuccino (don't they know what cappuccino is in Wales :bang: ) and I'm awake at last.

A few pikkies of the day and a few thank-yous that I forgot in the sleepy haze of last night..

A HUGE thanks to Rolfy and Jan for organising the day. It must have been a major undertaking for you both, and to get everyone around Wales without too many wayward trips or Garmin moments has to be applauded. Sorry I didn't make it to the bamby burgers (nor the curry the night before), but my 'Bird has a lot to answer for. And it was nice to come so far north and find that the sun still shines and the roads are still twisty. Thank-you again and hope to join another of your rides soon...

Thanks to Smix for her company and her distinctive 'Bird from Wells onward. Your bike made the deathly boring part of the M5 / M4 / Severn Bridge section that bit more colourful. Hope I didn't give you too many heart-in-the-mouth moments during my A40 overtakes (there was loads of room - honest!) Nice to find a fellow 'Birder so close to the channel. There can't be that many of us this far south on the British mainland. We'll have to organise a Tomtom based Wessex ride out sooner or later I guess...

Thanks to AJ for hanging back and buying a round of burgers at the All American Diner in Leominster (I just don't get some of the places we found yesterday) whilst we waited for the recovery truck. Does Mrs AJ know how intimate you got with that half naked Thai lady? I was half expecting you to get some ping pong balls out next :lick:

And thanks to the many others I met, for their company if nothing else - a gert big friendly bunch you are too!

Smix, Shaggy & Mrs Shaggy (sorry, I did say I was useless at names) and Centaur wondering where the rest of the 'Birds have got to...

"I told you they'd end up in Scotland if AJ was leading with his Garmin didn't I..."

EasterSunday1.jpg

They've arrived at last - but brought some clouds with them...

EasterSunday2.jpg

They're still here...

"Now, if I breath in hard enough I'll get that zip done up - shouldn't have had that third creme egg though."

EasterSunday3.jpg

So, wheeerrr we going now?

"Well, the Garmin went that way, so we'll go this way..."

EasterSunday4.jpg

Ah - to an All American Diner in Herefordshire (I'm sure there must be a history of Septics in Leominster somewhere...). And that lampost wasn't there when I took the photo... But the kerb was certainly there when XXtremist left!!

EasterSunday5.jpg

Right - off to whip the 'Bird with some branches, shout some abusive names at her and practice tent erections (long story...).

Catch you all later...

Regards
