Yep, I did at grammar school in the 60s. And recently on DuoLingo. It is actually quite good to know on occasion.

Always worth checking your bill. Before you pay it!! Had a really excellent breakfast (as usual) in Bills a few days back. Service was excellent. I normally tip in cash but didn’t have anything suitable with me. Bills have introduced a system that I have only seen in Zurich before (people there are much better behaved than here and unlikely to do a runner) where the bill can be paid by swiping the QR code on the table and you just walk out. Very nifty. I swiped and voila Up it pops on my phone with the option to add a tip at various %s. So I added 10%. Just looked at the email received detailing the bill and there was already a ‘discretionary 12.5% service charge’ added. Back to tipping in cash next time….

on the plus side I also received an email offering 30% off main courses amongst other things….quite handy as six of us will be there Next week for an early dinner.

Dickhead & skanky bitch took Grandkids to an Indian last week, bitch shared a korma with the kids & wouldn’t let them have a naan as she doesn’t like Garlic, Dickhead went to pay the bill, he told them to add £2 as he as paying by card, they said they couldn’t do that as tips have to be in cash, he didn’t have any cash on him, as he turned to leave the guy at the till said very loudly “make sure you bring cash next time”
