...OO-OO...You are a one... I dropped down from the "Fast" to the "Inters" and I wasn't looking for (much) glory... :-0)
... I was just trying to do my good deed for the day...(aw-www, bless...!!) :p Got me just desserts, though, so I won't do it again - 'till the next time! :} New leathers and lid sorted - waiting for e-bay bits: back on track defo. 6 December and before then if I can fit one in. I envy you, Joe  - I'll try to get a Racedays event in next year - and if you're ever racing "Oop North" give me a shout and I'll come along to pick up some pointers. (Thinking about it, racing's probably cheaper than trackdays!) p0pc0rn41

Anyway, it's good to hear from ya, fella - RideSafe and Keep it Rollin' :yo:

DA- I've got some spare K3/K4 1000 bits if any good to you? PM on the Gixer site if you want.
Re: Racing cost V TD costs. Depending on the club, UK race entry fees are similar to track days charges, but you get far less track time. Tyre costs are far greater, you're changing pads regularly and ALWAYS looking for that "next mod" to give you an edge. Without stating the obvious (i.e. grid starts, the fact that you're there to RACE and usual Track Day protocol doesn't apply!) the biggest single difference (and one that I initialy struggled with), is that unlike track days, you have NO time to get into your groove.
You're sat on the grid. Surrounded by 25 other committed riders. The lights goes out and you're on it from the off and you've got to give it your all for 8-10 laps! Fitness and health play a major part too. If you're doing the odd track day it doesn't matter that much but even at Clubman level it makes a difference. All in all DA, the jump from TD's to Racing for me was far greater than the jump from road riding to TD's. It's a completely different mind-set, the quarter given and you've got to be commited.
Biggest mistake I made this season was entering a Buildbase race. I qualified well but got beaten up in the race itself. It did my confidence no good at all and that's when the mind-f@ck sets in - it's only Clubman level but it's still racing.
Anyway, let me know if you decide to take the plunge and hope to see you at a Racedays event next year.

See you can remember..

We certainly did DA and I,m please to read your still going for it.

Having not been to a Beemsee meeting for many years I decided to go to one at Brands, given I live so close and boy was I surprised. Riders our age and perhaps older were going for it and its the most exciting racing I have seen for years, for a fraction of what it costs to go to WSB or Motogp. Both of these seem to have got so boring these last few years soI know where I will be going to watch my racing next year ,give it a try.

Cheers, D.S. Racing and trackdays are worlds apart in terms of expense, fitness requirements and levels of commitment. It's just that there are some things everyone should try once! I'll be at Cadwell in a couple of weeks on an "Open Pit Lane" trackday - so I guess that will probably the nearest I'll get to proper racing - at least, for this year!

You're right, Ted! Lorraine and I used to follow the Club and BSB races around - Angelsey, Oulton, Brands etc. and, as you say - we got ten-times the excitement for less than a tenth of the cost of the major series. Maybe it's time I was "Dunroamin'" and concentrated on watcing the "home boys"! :-:

...Hope all's well..

Sorry for not replying sooner but I've been struggling to spend any time at the computer as recovering from an off at Jerez. All ok now and will be racing again on 20th Dec at Guadix (Spanish Streetstock winter series).
They've just added an additional date in January at the new circuit at Parklagar, Portugal so I've got to stay out for that now  :-0)
Hope you're sorted now mate.

Still kickin' it!
Joe-ya-bugga...!!

Glad you're OK and I hope you're back to full fitness. :yo: I'm all sorted and I'll be at Oulton 6 + 13 December (oh, joy!)

Obviously, it's going to be tortuous for you :violin: - you've got the unenviable task of forcing your unwilling body and soul to race in Spain and Portugal in December/January, rather than to stay in the UK: an impossibly difficult choice for anyone to have to make. sp1ttt3

...I'm sure you'll struggle bravely through the misery of being away... :p

...RideSafe, Lad. (but fast on the track..)
