That figures. Another religious based statement that mustn't be challenged.
Ok, how about a non-religious statement than can be challenged, but consider the fact a closed mind is the hardest door to open, before you ridicule.
A planet far far away is dying from over use of resources and from constant conflict and need to make radical changes for its own salvation. They scan the cosmos for an alternative planet on which to continue their existence, and one which is obviously logistically viable.
They find one but unfortunately the indigenous species could prove a threat to them and therefore must be eradicated before they can continue with their population plans, but another problem accures to them. The new planet would be poor in luxuries compared to the old homeland, so a lot of work needs to be done before colonization commence. Being a planet of equality and like minded beliefs there or no convicts or slaves to be sent ahead to undertake the work commitments. A plan is hatched to use the resources available to them and manipulate some available DNA and create a workforce. All this would take time and would need constant supervision for everything to run smoothly, but with the intelligence and skills learnt the project becomes a success.
Viable ? possibility maybe ?
Now lets changed the parameters slightly to a level which could become calcable
Any invading civilisation would need to eliminate any threat to their well being so Dinosaurs would need annihilating
Manipulating indigenous DNA would result in a missing link in the evollusional line
The resulting workforce would need to be controled by a force which fills them with fear but target their aim to achieve a goal, locally called religion.
Once everything is sent up to cultivate crops, water supplies and a basic level of amenities their new homeland would be ready for population, and if carnivorous, a huge protein sources.
