Latest Route - Please check out post # 1

The latest route, after a few minor-ish changes, can be found in post # 1. Given the condition of the back lanes in the area at the moment (mud, farm vehicle tracks, etc) then I've moved the route out onto more 'A' roads.

Also please note the Run Timings which now provides info about the break locations in Wragby and Market Rasen - see post # 21

Warning Lincoln

The local plod are quite keen on speeding on the roads going into & out of the town (sorrounding area) and seem to have a endless unmarked vehicles available to them, uptill now i'v seen a Pan, ZX9 & old Fireblade (RRT) + the usual cars.
Be aware of any sensibly dressed biker trying to tempt a race, not as we would any way :t R#?

Thanks for the useful warning John. We'll take extra care when we're skirting Lincoln. Might be worth going back onto to 'B' roads for that stretch!

Courtesy of Silverone, we have an excellent biker venue for the return leg break just east of Market Rasen. Again, I'll update the maps and details shortly.

I'd also like to thanks Roxxo for the superb reccy'ing that he's been doing of the route on his NEW bike!!! Any excuse!!! As I don't know the area in great detail this has been exceptionally useful, and I'm sure will pay-off handsomely for all of us on the day.

Is this by any chance "Wiliingham Woods".
It is a well known bikers spot especially Wednesday evening and the weekends.
There is a lay by with a small cafe / ice cream hut and plenty of parking area. The woods are very popular with walkers and dogs.
The only downside is that is also well known to the plod because of bikers doing stunts along the public highway. I'm sure Sunday afternoon will be OK though. If the weathers OK it's not a bad little spot.
Nice sweeping, roller coaster roads in the area too. Better on the Kwak. than the Bird.

Clive - we definately won't be around for this one. Going back darn sarf - need to get away from flat caps, whippets and racing pigeons for a weekend :} . Might even see some sun as well. :dunno:
