Civil Liberties. What would you scrap?

Looks like the Government are looking into scrapping some of the stupid Civil Liberties laws

Story and link to vote here...

May just be a big con... again.
But it could lead to getting rid of some stupid CIVIL LIBERTIES laws.
What would you vote to get rid of?

( Don't forget, it's CL law, not speeding.)

And now a serious answer; I would like the police to have more power to 'stop and search' than at present. I see the current restrictions as damaging to the vast majority of decent people out there.

How are any restrictions damaging decent people, surely decent people don't need to be searched and it is by searching decent people on spurious charges that the Police is damaged.

So let me get this straight, instead of a Police officer having to use their brain and properly evaluate if say a pimply kid with a camera is a terrorist you just want them to be able to stop and search any one carte blanche in the knowleged that the public won't feel bullied or threatened.

I know RFID tags implanted at birth should sort it all out.

brok3 Look oscifer, nothing in my pockets.

So, these nice police officers who have all this new power can stop me and search my car. In my car are my tools of trade, hammers, knives, screwdrivers, test equipment that can deliver an electric shock. I am now arrested for possessing offensive weapons and going equiped for house breaking. Yes, I can see how more powers would work.

I just want less rights and more responsibilities. No bog in your prision cell? Shame. Try not to commit crime then. Break into someone's house and got a kicking? Shame, shouldn't have been there then.

Burned yourself on your hot coffee which you'd just bought and didn't realise it would be hot? Your own fault.

'This product may contain nuts' i should hope so or i've just bought a bag of salty air.

Essentially, i want to see the end of health and safety people making up new rules to justify their own existence and i want coppers to be able to haul chavs off the streets without said chavs being able to sue them for assault and having to fill in years of paperwork as a result.

All good points and I will support more police power when the police face bigger penalties for getting it wrong. Abuse your police power and get sacked. Three strikes and you're out sounds good.

Civil Liberties to be banned?

Gay rights,
What they get up to in the privacy of their own homes is up to them but to parade their deviancies around the streets is taking it a bit far.

Equal rights [employment]
If we need a law to tell us that certain people are equal then they obviously are not equal, there are some jobs that Men are better at & some that Women are better at let common sense prevail.

Barrie .. such silliness does & has existed for some time ....

I can't bring water, cans of beans, yogurts, cans of cola etc into work.

But I routinely have to carry things that go bang and the devices that make them start going bang ...

got called back to my vehicle by security one day .. me thinking .. they've finally decided the bang stuff is more dangerous than water

nope .... I'd left the mobile phone in the car ... got told off for not taking it through the security check with me ....

Seems a bit harsh...

Derek is not alone in finding public displays of homosexuality distastefull.

I wouldn't want to stumble upon a 'Gay pride' march with my two young kids.

The law on Pikeys, sorry Travellers, should be sorted out. About 20 caravans appeared the other side of a field that my house backs onto. The bloke who owns the land told them to leave they just told him to p**s off. The Police refused to attend even though the Pikeys knocked a fence down to get on the land. They were tearing around the field that is deep with corn on scooters and flattening it. Police still not bothered. Shooting rabbits and pigeons with an airgun on the field. Police still not bothered. Throwing heaps of human s**t and used bog paper into the field causing a health hazzard. Police and Council not bothered. I am pretty sure that if I damaged a fence to gain entry to somewhere then walked around shooting things I would be done for armed trespass and would end up locked very quickly. It seems that there is one law for honest law abiding citizens and another for this odious section of society!
