Them why the fook did you bleat on about buying ANOTHER bird after you'd sold the last one?

Because

I wasn't going to buy new!!

But since i made money on my Blade i decided 'FOOK IT' and as i had a choice AND the reviews leant in favour AND because 'I' personally like it then it was a natural progression.
I'm not scared to try things out.

Read the reviews yourself........I'm not arsed about build quality, if it rusts i'll replace it.... I look after my bikes anyway, i respect my posessions.

LOL who said owt about great tech???

Maybe the upside down forks and generally lighter weight IMPROVE it over the Lardbird..
Maybe its the more rigid frame construction and braced swingarm??
Maybe its the steering geometry /rake which helps??
Maybe its the torque curve which makes it such an exhilarating ride??
Maybe its because the brakes are sooo much more positive and stronger??
Maybe its the roar from the airbox, the sportier feel & position, the sheer presence of the whole package...............

What ever it is, its still selling thousands in America and across the world..
(I hear they've not sold new BIRDS in America since 2003 h1d1ng2 )

Oi RHINO

lets not start slagging off the BIRD on here please

Reasonable banter and debate is great - slagging off the bird on a bird forum aint going to gain you any brownie points

Where have i slagged it..............?

Who started a debate and lost on the power of not backing up his words (nothing new there then).    'YOU DID'

The BIRD is a good bike, i've never said otherwise (i owned mine for 3 yrs) but i've moved UP a step as far as i'm concerned. It suits me just fine.

Is a lunp
the busa is feckin ugly, i dont like the brakes (the two i rode have worst brakes than my bird, and one of them was a demo bike.)

the bird is an outdated lump of fat.

biking is about the thrill of being on two wheels and i can shit myself on a scooter if i have to.

courses for horses, but i dont really want to be seen on a feckin ugly bike, and anyways where does the stove/fridge/sink/double beds go????

C'mon Bert, rise to the challenge or are ya full of hot air?

Have thought about it overnight and perhaps you are both right

Forget the Childish V5 mularky - that just bravado talking

Lets put it to the test....2000 properly setup BIRD [for me anyway] versus new Busa

You're 15 years younger and fitter than me and have a lot more riding experience but I'm still up for the crack

Truth be known I've never done a proper track day before and I think I should experience a proper race track before I finally decide to hang the leathers up!!

Quite excited by the thought to be honest -as long as you are gentle with me!!

So........ which circuit and when?

By the time we get this sorted I'll be living in West Wales so I'll need to sort some accomodation out

My preference would be for Donington Pk [can mix some business with pleasure] but Oulton Park is OK as is Cadwell

Never been to Snetterton or Brands

Mallory Park seems like a good circuit - been there loads of time to watch [but remember 1200Pete has his off there so perhaps superstitions might creep in?] Did the Honda Race School Day 10 years ago!! LOL

But I'm open to suggestion RHINO

Not sure about insurance implications but if you fancied - we could always swap steeds for a while - I'd love to have a go on the Busa - I'll let you have a go on a properly setup FI Bird !! LOL

Golden rule though - Bend it and Mend it

If we use one of these Hot-Trax or Focused events track day jobbies could be a good day out

Middle of the summer suits me best [gets over house moving]

But........... you started the challenge so I'll let you decide the venue?

With plenty of notice we could see if a few BIRD members could attend - take photo's - then I'll do an unbiased write up and post it on the website

How about loser over the 5 laps [aggregate times] donates ?100 to CLIC?

Let me know dates and venue eh? Quiet looking forward to it now

I dunno..... not logged on here last night so last time I looked was from work before 5.00pm.

Since then I've ridden home, washed the bike, had my tea, went for a walk and played football with my son, watched the new Narnia film on dvd and finally went to bed for some restful zzzzz's.

Log in this morning to see how things are... what do I find.......... two kids have been having a "pissing up the wall" competition during the night............:dunno:

If you pick Oulton I'll come along to watch and run a barbie for everyone afterwards as I'm only a couple of miles away!!!!!

I bet they'll both find old habits die hard though........ Rhino will be getting his lines wrong and Bert'll keep looking up in the sky to see if 'copter is around!!

So am i........

You should know me by now, a lot of thought went into my choice of steed and i didn't buy it on impulse or to please people on here, i bought it to do a job.
The job it does is top notch so far and i'm so confident in its ability to out-run your 2000  model 'XX' (parts bin special) that i put up the offer.

The offer was my 2006 (not yet run-in) HAYABSUA if you won......

I had a similar situation in the early 90's with a mate.............I took his MK1 Escort 2000 off him :lick:
But being a nice chap i gave it back to him within the week (after all, he was a mate)

Cough cough. tap tap

The fugley and the fudge had a race
which one would be able to last the pace
the fudge took the lead
the fugley passed at speed
you could see the determination upon their face

the fugley and the fudge had a bet
5 laps on a track not chosen yet
the fugley broke down
the fudge struggled round
too many left handers for this pet

the fugley and the fudge carried on
smell of shit was very very strong
just as they neared the end
in front of their cheering friends
the papergirl passed on a wheel of one.
