Avon Azaro's = Damaged fairings!

Hi folks. I'm on my second Azaro rear after having BT020s on as a previous tyre choice. The 020s lasted 1900 miles (front AND rear!) the Azaro rear lasted 3000 with the front probably good for another 2k. I noticed in Black Knights pic a slight strip left before reaching the tyre edge. My last one was like that and so, so far, is this one, and that with having the metalwork on the deck. The 020 used to wear right out to the writing on the side! Wet performance seems ok but to be brutally honest if I can avoid it I do!

Tis very odd cos I roll right off the edge of the vipers with ease and get to the edge of the 46/45 ones regularly ! Yet I do not scrape fairings ( though I do scrape the titanium peg feelers nicely ! :p )

Perhaps a little stiffening of the preload B K ?

How would that affect the ride of the bike - I really do know zilch about suspension.

I don't have hero blobs on mine as I've got posh rearsets. First thing down is the fairing. Did it agin Wed, even worse this time:bang:

If you stiffen the rear up too much you'll increase the tyre wear.

I buy my tyres from FWR in Kennington. They do the Azaros still ( but I think they are being discontinued) and they also do a very nice "packet of three" deal on some tyres, where you get 2 rears and a front for only a little more than a pair of tyres. I can reccomend them most highly.

Dunno where you get your info from Pete, but I can assure you the Azaro's are not being discontinued... In fact as the technology Avon uses makes certain other tyre manufacturers techniques look like something from the dark ages I have a sneaky feeling they will be around a loooong time ! :p

I was only speaking to Gary Bretherton today oddly enough.. he has just come back from a week of track days in Spain the jammy git !! :p !

I just heard in on the grapevine Jaws, not from any official source. I have no idea who Gary Bretherton is, so I'll take your word for it. I'd be very sorry to see the Avon ST go, since it gave me the best ever mileage on my 'busa. I'm a big fan of the Azaro.

I have heard very recently (unofficially again) that Avon are releasing a new line of tyres shortly.
