As for the diet, I avoid anything processed for the majority of the time. Keep your heavy carbs (bread, rice, pasta, etc.) to a minimum, along with sugar. Nothing at all wrong with natural fat; contrary to popular belief, fat is not the enemy. Sugar is the problem.
Plenty of green veg is a good thing; no one ever got fat on broccoli and asparagus.
You’ll also do yourself a huge favour by doing some form of exercise. I take it to the extreme because I bit the gym six or seven days a week. I train twice a day some days. You don’t need to go to that extreme, 30 minutes three times a week is enough to keep your heart happy. Screw jogging, it’s shite. Some form of resistance training is ideal and go for a few walks a week too, that should keep you right.
