Had a demo at work for a bit, hyper fast but not as comfy as the bird. As soon as you gave it a handful it felt like the wind was trying to rip your lid off.

Cracking bike but not my cup of T.

Bloody hell... "Nostalgia used to be a friend of mine..." !! :p

..Yerl need ter scroll down

If yer serious about gettin one, consider the extra cost of gettin the flat spot and suspension sorted. Go to the gym and strengthen yer arms and legs cos yerl need plenty of strength to hang on... :-0)

...Yerl also need a fully-heated, moisture-proof garage t keep the rust at bay - and yer might need to emigrate to a country with a mainly warm, dry climate - just t be on the safe side.

...Apart from that...

...Knock yerself out - it's a proper mean machine...:-:

Appreciated that, a good read @tu*
At the moment I'm lucky enough to own a Bird and a Pan.
The Bird is for me, was a bit of a project, bought cheap, in a tatty condition and overhauled during some long winter months, back to a a black '97 Bird.
The Pan we tour on, so that is the one we would look to replace, choices are the GTR or ZZR 14's.

which Pan you got Jono the 11 or 13 ?

thinking about getting one for the touring now, have tried the BMW1600 and the Trophy 1200 tourers both too expensive and the Triumph was far too tall and heavy plus er indoors didn't rate it for pillion

going to test ride the K1300GT when she got free weekend, rode it solo and was impressed

Well then - it's "horses for courses" innit?...:-:

Suspension setup and build-quality are the drawbacks of the GTR/ZZR range, but that's about it. Kept dry and warm, there's not much left to worry about - and as long as you're prepared to keep the bugger faultlessly clean there really aren't any other issues as far as I'm concerned.

For all the advice you'll get though, the best thing to do is go and do a test ride.

...The seat o' yer pants'll tell yer the rest - an' in more ways than one if yer not careful..!! :-0)

..Good hunting! @tu*

I've got that combination, 'bird and Pan. I had a test ride on the new Trophy and it's got loads of equipment if you go for the top spec but it's ?15k  Having said that, the Pan is ?14k+ and hasn't the same level of equipment. I did 40miles on the Trophy then got back on my Pan and thought, yes, this is right for me.:dunno:

That's a nice bike, black wheels would look better on it imho.
