hmmmmm...

I spose they kept the bottom half black so it didnt look JUST like an R1...

Its all starting to get a bit like cars now. I mistook a new CBR600 for a fireblade the other day (in the showroom - up close!)

Sorry guys.. I know there are many Kwaka fans on here, but speaking as one of the blokes who ends up fixing the things, I would not entertain one under any circumstances..
The only good ( !! ) thing I will say is that generally Kwaks are about 5 years behind in technology so are often very basic and easy ( is somewhat expensive ) to repair.

Oh I aint saying there is anything wrong with old technology.. The Bird is even older by a long chalk..
But where Honda took on board a lot of issues concerning durability and weather wear, kwaks did not ..

A a matter of interest, one of the very fastest fighter planes is I believe the F-15.. Now twenty years old.. Dont make it right or clever though ! :p
I reckon kwak should stick to making trains.. they are bloody fast and handle like they are on rails !!! :f :neenaw:

I reckon the kwaks do tend to use older trusted/cheaper tech currently, they seem to have slipped a fair way IMHO in the "on the edge" development.

AND WTF - the angle of the silencer is completley insane, looks crap. hasnt anyone else noticed?

Fully alluminium monocoque frame - (the first EVER on a production machine), THE most powerful production motorcycle engine ever produced by Kawasaki or anybody else (standard 191bhp at the crank with RamAir) resulting in the best power to weight ratio of anything in it's class by a long way.........................technology may be 'old' compared to some but I know which bike wins the 'make Sam grin like a madman competition' - and I tell you truthfully, my big Kwak's the most powerful-stable-nimble thing I've ever ridden..............by a LONG LONG way.

Aside from an initial episode with the subframe bolts dissapearing within 1000 miles the build on my 03 12R continues to suprise and impress................it's not gonna stand up to the mileage as well as my Bird - but it ain't all that bad (he says fingers crossed)....................

At the end of the day I'd trade better build quality for a little something called SOUL - and an aural soundtrack that gives me goosebumps everytime I wind her up...................

The 10's the supersports machine of the moment.................my testride's booked...........:yo:

I dont believe I was talking about a single specific model my friend, I was refering to KAWASAKI in general.

I agree the ZX12 is a great bike.

I'll go with that. In fact, the F-15 is closer to 30 years old now. But the Russian MiG 29 is faster. Big goddamned powerplants on the thing make up for otherwise piss-poor engineering (had the opportunity to crawl all over one a few years back at one of our airbases). Problem is, the engine on a MiG, however powerful, needs a rebuild at less than 1/5 the time an F-15's Pratt/GE (depends on F-15 model) needs. Hmmmm....reliability. Sounds familiar, eh?

I'll go with reliability.

This Kawi, however interesting, actually looks like someone pared weight, etc down with a chisel or hatchet. Was any consideration taken for the rider? In fact, did they consider that there was going to BE a rider? I daresay it's eyecatching in some respects, but I want to know it'll last (and not feel like a skateboard on a set of railroad ties) when I ride it.

I'll ride one....as long as it is someone else's worry.

Mike.
(eyeballing 66F weather forecast here on Thursday!!!)

Don't all Kwakers rust out within 2 years  stick to Honda the best build quality there is:neenaw:
