Can't comment on the 350, I have the Zumo 660 and it's a great piece of kit.

Roy, Ive been doing a fair bit of research on it as late and basically its the same software / processor/ screen size less memory than the 660 but without the extra bells and whistles mp3 etc etc...

So I went with a white boxed 660 at ?60 cheaper than the 350 L ..
got it last week and well happy... ?340 delivered, 350L is ?400 for less spec :dunno:

Fek.. they are now down another tenner

Bit of a hijack sorry!!:dunno:

I asked last week how I could get my "frozen" Zumo 550 back up and running, after one or two of you told me to remove battery and re insert it, it worked, @tu* thanks all, anyway, TODAY I got a rather erm LONG answer :dunno: well here it is!!

Dear Ian Robinson,

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.

I will be happy to help you with regards to your query.

Please could you try charging the device by connecting it to your
computer via a USB cable or to a mains adapter for 3-5 hours to give the
device a full charge?

I also have included some troubleshooting methods below which may
resolve this issue:

Updating the software on your device:

I will suggest you install the software starting at the WebUpdater page:

http://www.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp

1. Plug your unit into the computer via the USB cable
2. Click on Download under Step 1
3. Select the appropriate version of the WebUpdater based on your
computer's operating system
4. Click I agree to the above terms and want to proceed to the download
page
5. Click Download
6. Select Run when the pop up box appears
7. Select Run if a message appears asking "Do you want to run this
software?"
8. Click Next when the WebUpdater installation page appears
9. Check the box to accept the licensing terms and select next
10. Select Done to complete the WebUpdater download

Once WebUpdater is installed on your computer, select the application,
if it does not automatically open, to run the program and follow the
prompts.

1. Select Next on the WebUpdater Wizard
2. Select Find Device and Next
3. Select Next to update the unit software on your device and follow the
prompts.

Once you have run the software updates and updated your device, you will
be prompted to search for additional updates. To load any additional
updates, check the box next to the specific updates you wish to
download. Select anything that relates to firmware, GPS software,
traffic, vehicles or voice language relating to the versions you use.
Once selected, click next and check the agreement box. At this point the
updates will run directly to your Garmin device. Once the update is
complete you will see a box showing downloads and if they were a
success. Click finish and unplug your Garmin from the computer to allow
the updates to load. Once the update(s) are loaded, your device will
return to the normal agreement screen and it will be ready to operate.

Master reset the device:

After completing the software update, the next recommendation is to
perform a master reset on your unit.

Before you perform a master reset, you can save your favourites by
following these steps. If you do not wish to save your favourites, skip
to step 9.

1. Connect your device to the computer.
2. On your computer, click ?Start?
3. Click ?computer? or ?my computer?
4. Open the ?Garmin? folder
5. Open the GPX folder
6. Copy and paste all of the contents of this folder to your desktop
7. Close all folders
8. Disconnect your device from your computer
9. Turn the device off
10. Press and hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen and press
the on/off button
11. Continue to hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen until
you see a message saying ?do you really want to erase all user data?
12. Remove your thumb from the screen and press yes.
13. The device will now begin the reset

Now place the unit in clear view of the sky for 45 minutes with the
antenna up if your unit has one after performing reset so it can pick up
a strong signal.

Now connect the device to the computer or mains adapter and leave this
connected for 3-5 hours to build a decent charge.

Unfortunately if this doesn't work and you have purchased the device
more than a year ago we will not be able to book the device in for a
warranty replacement and you will need to call our UK Support Free Phone
on 0808 238 0000 to book the device in for a Fixed Rate Replacement
Cost.

If you have attached a copy of the proof of purchase to this email we
will also need the following information from you:

? Device Serial Number
? Email Address
? Phone Number
? Full Postal Address

Once I have this information and the Proof of Purchase I will be able to
determine if you are within your warranty with us and book the device
in. I will then send you an RMA Reference number, the address you need
to send it to and all warranty information for your reference.

If there is anything else I can help you with then please let me know.
Alternatively you can search for a solution here: http://www.garmin.co.uk/support

Kind regards,

Katherine Wheeler

All very good but in the email I sent, I told them the damn thing was not responding to anything I did to it, so all the above is total bollox and it's pretty obvious they didnt READ what I'd written only what they THOUGHT I'd written!! wankers!!:wank:

Unlike you lot that sorted the problem faster, cheaper, and with a bloody sight less bullshit, thank you @tu*
