Okay, this is a bit risky but I'm placing my business in your hands for once (God help me!)

I have a customer with a streetfighter that is very nicely built, complete with Harris frame, Bandit tank and Fireblade single seat unit on it. The whole thing has been lovingly created and now needs finishing off.

He has asked me what I think would look best for a paintjob and I have said that the following idea would work well, what do you think???

Chrome paint base with "smoke" airbrushed from the bottom so it looks like the whole thing is "hot" and smouldering.

Anybody got any better suggestions or ideas, let's have them then. In fact, if I can convince him the best suggestion will be used , how's that??d34l

Save your time Steamy and cover it in petrol and light it. It'll give you a far better hot and smouldering effect.

Sorry, was that not sensible?

Bless you Arti! :k

See, it takes a lady to come up with a good idea. The first one in the "proper" mix for now!

In all seriousness, I think your original idea sounds good. But I'm not blessed with an imagination when it comes to paintwork. As long as it's not red or black or primer grey.

I have an idea, one thats never been done before,

An Illusion paint scheme.

There are some examples in google images of static patterns that appear to be moving but are in fact static, cos of how yer eye works.

Apply this to said motorcycle, and voila!!! A paint scheme to confuse and bewilder!!! Heres we have a random example of what I mean: http://alain.hackquest.com/blog/optical-illusion.gif

I would love to try this myself, but would rather spend money on mechanical bits, i.e downpipes, need new tyres soon, and some frame plugs to keep the rain off me nuts, errr..... Jaws and storms spring to mind!!!

ROCK ON!!!:yo:

Why are you asking us? It's your business / company right?

If it was my bike you were refering to and I found out you asked an open forum for ideas I'd be a bit concerned to be honest!

Good luck anyway - hope it works out. :-:

Do you honestly think I'm going to take any of your suggestions seriously??? :p

Actually, it's nice to hear what other bikers think and how they perceive what can and can't be done with paintwork. Therefore, by asking the question, it opens up my train of thought as to how best to approach the project. The optical illusion is a lovely idea of you want people having epilleptic fits and it's only achievable by computer, nigh on impossible to paint I would have thought.

Richard - you're a shitbag!

Ian - You can get up now!

Lumpy - I'll have a double (hic)!

FBStew - This is why it's MY business and not theirs, good job too really!

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'm still playing with different thoughts and will no doubt let you know what we (me and the customer) end up deciding on!
