Your best and worst riding skill

  • I am the best ever at low speed filtering, rarely touch feet down unless at an absolute standstill, probably based on years of doing track stands on my racing bike. Amazes me how riders on much smaller bikes paddle their way through gaps and I follow behind without touching down. Bird mirrors are a good height for filtering too.
  • Also I am an absolute god at riding in the wet, totally confident, doesn't bother me a bit

  • Not so good at moving the bike with the motor off, normally throw a leg over and paddle it around - don't know if it is because it is a big bike or not, just never feel confident.
  • Hate riding over high exposed bridges like QE2 at Dartford.
  • Hate riding in high winds on motorways.
  • don't like riding with other bikes - always feel I am being pushed to ride faster than I want, prefer to set my own pace

I'll match you at slow speed and filtering any day Andy, even on the Pan.
I'm not so confident in the wet but best to err on the side of caution I think. I too prefer to ride alone unless it's with three particular people who I trust totally.

Feel confident on the bike most days, but then there are the days where everything goes wrong at the same time....

Generally good at everything, but my biggest bad point is I am suicidal(no jokes) and always find ways to get myself into situations which could have been avoided by some common sense.

I like to ride for miles and miles (of scenic riding), have been known to do 5 or 6 hundred miles some days. But I can not abide to ride from point A to point B for the sake of getting there and go by motorways as I get so bored I invariably end up doing silly speeds. Therefore I would do a journey like that by car and keep the speed down.

Slow speed filtering is also no prob and can even come to a complete stop with my feet on the rests.... however.. I am crap at tight slow speed U turns.... I don't like U turns. I prob should find a massive car park and practice :-0)

I was a fan Barrie.

You sound like Maggie Thatcher, Bill. "The Lady's not for turning"

Until she went too far! Encouraging the Argentinians to invade and then sinking the Belgrano to ensure a war would happen.:shooter:

best skill, ultra slow riding, was always good at that.

worse trait, uber aggresive filtering, including clipping mirrors [on purpose] and playing chicken with oncoming traffic. Not big, not clever.

Think the war had started before the big "B" was holed, love the theory though :-0)

They are indeed very good but I didn't see any rain, greasy roads, or Polish artics bearing down on them in those videos!8rfl@8rfl@

One of my mates mates (sic) is a serving Motorcycle Traffic Officer for Cheshire (and a multiple 'bird owner) and trying to follow his lines through the North Wales mountains gets very "interesting" to say the least. He's super smooth, hardly touches the brakes ever and that makes him quick! Its like a private Bike Safe day every time I ride with him.

If he reads this you know who you are! Cheers for the freebie. :-0)

Worst bit = of it, founder of the crap riders club.

Best bit = none see above

Landscapers do it outside
Best : I always tend to look after other bikes in a group, I've spent a good long time leading groups and guess I'm tuned in to the group riding thing.

Bad : Every now and then I tend to have a silly 5 mins.

best bit: long sweeping left handers with good visibility; just love getting on the gas nice and smoothly. :-0)
worst bit: tight right handers, my brain doesn't do right handers; cant stay left long enough and usually turn in too soon. :bang:
