after my trip over to Fudgeys in a torrential downpour last weekend, coupled with some of your responses to FB's thread about me riding on low tread tyres in the wet....

How safe am I riding in the winter....? Wouldn't it be better if bikers just hung the leathers up and reserved the summer for flinging the 2 wheels around ?

If riding in the wet was a s bad as Sat then heaven knows what it'll be throught he Winter months....

:dunno:

I dont mind it at all, the secret is keeping warm and dry. Get some good gear and Heated grips/gloves.

Riding in the wet is one of the best ways to make you a faster smoother rider in the dry.

Youre having a giggle S&S.......

Proper bikers ride 12 months of the year

Wussy bikers spend the autumn and winter months polishing and checking there "optimisers - now available from http://www.jaws-motorcycles.co.uk - tell him Bert sent you LOL...toooo commercial cue Rolfy]
Then try to sell their trusty steeds as low mileage - 10 years old - only done 800 miles - grrrrrrrrrrrrrr :bang: :bang: :wank:

So what are you ?

Biker or Wuss?

I'll second that :- plus
  1. make sure youv'e got tread on your tyres
  2. Relax, dont "grip" the bars vice like
  3. make all inputs super smooth & you'll be fine
As long as a fookin multi tasker does'nt get you in her sights:f

Why would I want to spray rust on my bike ??? :dunno:

Just ride it through winter

But don't expect there to be as much grip on the tarmac as in high Summer.
And avoid ice and torrential rain

a] like I give a F*ck

b] you wouldn't know one if it bit you on the arse

c] probably not as the total IQ of Co-op staff in Ossett is on a par with a forest fan.

d] What book is that then? 'Janet & John get verbal flatulence' just for your info whilst I was on leave last week I clocked up 300 miles just bimbling about, I know some of you riding Gods manage that and more in one journey but some of us don't have the luxury of just being able to take off when we like.

crikey, the bait got a few bites.....

as if I'd lay my trusty steed up for the winter, pah....:t

17 years of constant riding, come winter, rain, hail whatever.....I believe that experiencing these conditions makes you a far better rider, more appreciative of throttle and brake control and hazard perception....:yo:

Unlike birthday boy who is a hazard when he uses all the road to block your overtaking moves, grrrrrr.......:t
