Go for it.
I live in Sunny South Africa - which means long winding mountain passes, 10 mile straights where no cops ever come, rainforest, deserts and more.
Since I bought my 97 Bird approx 2 years and 50000km ago, I have not had a single problem, excluding one dud rectifier in the first month which was replaced by a 2nd hand reg from a 99 Bird.
Worst mileage: 11 km/l (35mpg UK) during hard traffic riding
Best mileage: 19 km/l (53 mpg) stuck behind slow truck on highway during construction - no overtaking space :bang:
Average : 16km/l (45 mpg) during 40 km in peak traffic into and out of Johannesburg
I ride her everyday, except when wifey & I need lots of groceries, which is when we take her Opel Astra (Vauxhall in UK?), otherwise my tankbag gets the job done.
You'll not be sorry if you get yourself a Titanium Bird! %$fan
