I looked at the route at the cafe and it bypassed Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells and that meant a left turn at Bulah (onto the best bit of road between the start and Newtown) - and NO buddy.

I thought the buddy system was that the lead rider stop at the junction and wait for the first buddy who then waits for the tail rider to wave them on.

So I see someone waiting around the bend and thought great and turn in only to see a cyclist so question, do I follow the route or do I think the leader has gone wrong? Either way the leader has messed up a bit or the buddy didn't hang around so appologies for the U-turn guys, it's a great stretch of road you missed, plenty of dips, crests and esses etc.

There was still some good riding on the main road, and some that surprised me a bit ; Blumeeni, now we've had our first date I'll start using the throttle out of the corners R#?.

Anyway had a great time, nice to see some faces.

Cheers all, can't post for another week or so, so I'll pick up your flames and riding tips then.

Interesting. The Buddy system worked really well I thought. The beauty of it is that as long as you are behind the lead rider and in front of the Tailend Charlie you can't go wrong.

On reflection perhaps you should have slowed to await Smix who was the Tailend Charlie for guidance.

Still, it didn't seem to affect your enjoyment:yo:

The buddy system works but relies on the second rider staying at the turn off point till tailend charlie signals to them to move off.

I arrived at 2 junctions to find no one there I new the route so no prob.

From Aberystwyth back to the dove Deejay,Stan and I decided to enhance the buddy system a little either, Stan or I would be near to Deejay approaching junctions to make sure all was ok and no one got lost.

Most peeps would let us by as we were making progress back to the front.
One or two seemed a little nervous my apologies.

First of all apologies for any misunderstanding as I was the lead rider. :bang:

But I confirmed with Stan and Blu on saturday morning that this was the route that thay had decided on. As I said at the riders brief, to stay on the same road unless there is a rider to say otherwise, it is not practical or necessary to stop someone at every side road unless it is ambiguous as to which is the same road, such as a roundabout or crossroads, as we were not turning to Beulah I didnt position any one there,

I'm confused that I wasn't confused on the day ............. seemed to work like clockwork to me.

(As a sideline, anybody else see the cardboard Gatso that some sad git had erected on a pole in his garden? Might have lost the plot there laughing so much)
