Well we met a Bird rider from Portsmouth.....not a member.....but might be yet?

We also kind of met 'Davet' but did not talk, just left a card on bike. Have admitted to him that the Black Bird does look nice!!!

And I must say...

...that in 2003, Psychobikerben's workshop is working every bit as smoothly as it did in 2002...

Scrubbed the chain, modified the hugger, Ben sorted me out with his Mark 3 Scottoiler mod (drops oil onto front sprocket) and picked up a new Quantum F for 230 notes.

Spent yesterday buffing and polishing and couldn't face getting the bike wet again so had a hot bath and went down the pub!

Roll on some drier weather...

Thanks Ben :k

Warm(ish), dry roads, little traffic, clear sky, ...........and only a bloody Volkswagen at our disposal!

oh well, beggars can't be choosers as they say (doubt whether the bike would have started anyway knowing my luck!)

This weekend was not good!

Accompanied my mate DaveT (yes BIF, one and the same) to Dobles as he was picking up his (slow) brand new black BB. He'd ordered & paid for GILLES rearsets but the workshop couldn't work out how to put 'em on, so I think GILLES are gonna send someone down to show 'em :} . Having left him at Dobles & upon returning to the car (took the car as I was gonna carry the OE pegs, etc) I realise that I've got a flat. I drive to the nearest Kwik-Fit; no replacement in stock. Got the spacer saver (moped) tyre fitted but now restricted to 50mph all weekend! Two hours later I notice my wrist watch has packed up, so I take it to the nearest dealer to be told that it's gonna cost me ?90 for them just to look at it  I then decided that (on the basis that these things come in 3's) I wasn't gonna take the bike out in the shite weather (just in case!).
Today, I take the car down to Kwik-Fit, only to be told that "both" front tyres need replacing (not just the flat  ) All this after 16k miles only and I already had a flat in September & guess how much each tyre costs....................

?194 plus ?5 for balancing, ?2.50 for valve and 80p for disposal. (fook, I can assure you they didn't tell me that when I bought the stupid thing) and no, it's not a Ferrari or a Porche. Have to say that I rang around and Kwik-Fit were the cheapest (for once).

No tread left in centre of one tyre (very obvious) and the punctured tyre wasn't

repairable 'cos it was in the sidewall
