As you may have heard, the Wheel at Worfield was closed by Police 2 weeks ago. Well, the week after the closure excess of 1000 bikes and bikers turned up to protest at the closure. Unfortunatly I cannot find any images to post but the local papaer has a great picture on the front page.

Right then. For those that wish to attend there is going to be another meeting at the Wheel on Wednesday the 6th July, you wont get a drink as the pub is still closed, the landlady thanks all those that attended for their support although she has been instructed by he police not to incite or encourage any protest or demonstration.

Protect your rights.

The pic below shows the pub prior to the closure

Well looking at that there aint THAT many folk get there..
The White Swan at Gt Yarmouth has a pretty huge carpark that get so full every Friday that you simply cannot get back out until folk leave.. On top of that bikes are parked up and down all the side streets and on the pavements !

No, I aint belittling or putting down the wheel, I am pointing out that if Norfolk police can not only tolerate but often help and advise us lot at the Swan, the plod involved in this show are demonstrating once again that not all police forces have any idea of how to interact with the public.. In fact a good many do not give a toss and then wonder why no one trusts or even talks to them when they are looking for witnesses or help in some way..

Norfolk police in general are bloody brill, an awful lot of the Met guys I have met are also great people..

But......................

Another county force not too far from me is infested by arseholes who I would not piss on if they spontaniously combusted !

Numbers at the wheel

JAWS, there was actually more than the picture shows.
Piccie is taken from one the tiered "grass" parking areas (fields) at the side. This was also full of bikes as was the next tier (field) up the hill.
Just out of sight behind the pub is a garage with a full forecourt of bikes (where I was parked) which the owner had allowed. There was also a layby in front of the garage also full of bikes.

However, as far as meets goes it normally only gets around 750 - which is why the reasons for closing it down are rasther weak. One of the conditions the police are insisting on is that (due to the high numbers at what they call an unofficial rally) that the landlady provides first aid cover...

I'lll be there next Wednesday as well.

Theres a mean burger truck in the car park and they set up next to it with a soft drinks stall. The garage also stocks up for the event with drinks.

Used to go most Wednesdays,,,Police have always been heavy handed at the wheel even though there hasn't been any trouble,, just peeps on bikes having a wander round & chatting,, I'll try and get there but its a bit far for us now since we moved,, around 1500 bikes last time I think.

BTW,, Jaws,, did you see John Richardson in this weeks comic, sat down with his daughter,, he won the first moped race title,, ( just) he had the nice Bbird with the underseat zaust. Wondered what happened to him,, nice bloke.
