Just reading back the above, I wonder how far down the road it'll be before my description of the general populous as 'anyone' will be considered as offensive.

I read the article and had to look up the meaning of "BME", never heard it used before. I totally agree Pow-Lo, people are offended by just about anything, but is that not part of the bigger picture whereby we are all scared to say anything for fear of offending someone, somewhere? I'm no fan of Amber Rudd but I can't see what she has to apologise for. The term "coloured" is described as outdated in the article. When did it become outdated? Are we meant to check if any of our everyday language is out of date? I can think of many words to describe Ms Abbott, not any of them associated with her colour.

OK I'm white so I don't really get it, but I can't see what the difference is between "woman of colour" and "coloured woman". I saw in the news today that the baby of the terrorist bride passed away on Thursday. Whilst it’s very sad that an innocent child has died in (allegedly) appalling conditions, why is the Home Secretary to blame and why has Fatty Abbott taken to Twatter to criticise him?

This idiot teenager keeps getting pregnant yet her babies don’t last very long. Is there a pattern here or am I missing something?
