What do animals think with...?

Anyone ever thought about this...

How do animals think, or what do they think with?

When we think, or daydream, or forward plan, we use mental images and words. We proccess collections of words from our vocabulary and can almost "hear" them when we think, yeah...? Example: - I had a French girlfriend whose first language became English and her thinking switched slowly from French to English also. Frenchuk - do you think in English now... or still in French...?

So how do animals do it, given they don't have a "language" to think with..? They don't have a vocabulary (ok, perhaps a very limited one) that we are aware of, so how do they proccess thoughts..? How do they plan what they are going to do next...? What is going on in their minds when they are not doing anything and are also not asleep...? - that state where we would be "thinking"

Anyone got any ideas on this....? 8l1nd

from the words of a bitch(so our rob says) my two german shepherds never totally relax. they watch everything and listen to everything, even when they are asleep its not fully. the slightest noise they are straight there. does it depend on the type of breed perhaps ?

You wanna get rid of them and get a couple of dogs instead.. Shepherds are a pain in the arse always whistling and stuff ( also not too sure but it may be illigal to keep a couple of germans as pets ? )

When I speak English I think in English if you can call that thinking :f
The brain has differrent 'storage' areas for different languages. After my crash last year, for about 3 months I had speech problems. I knew the word, but the transmission between brain and mouth wouldn't work, I just couldn't say it until it 'popped out' eventually. I just had to called the equivalent French word in my brain dictionary, and could say it instantly...
As for animals, think about it... how do they communicate? with their own language, and with pheronomes - they can actually have an amazingly complex exchange of information with pheronomes (cf. study of ants). Just because we cannot understand their language doesn't mean they don't have one - or two...
1/ Some of them even understand when we speak to them.
2/ We don't understand a 'word' of what they say.
So, question: who the stupid one? Animal or human being?

Some animals also dream - proof of the existence of a complex psyche and subconscious mind. And then there are certain BIRD members, but that's another subject all together man8um

I understand what my dog says, when he needs a piss.

Name and shame please monsieur.

Orms and EdCBR are okay too but the blue lacquered over sick guy obviously has difficulty. Is there such a thing as colour dyslexia?

Ed is okay, but that short arse, welsh, sponge loving twat is a complete gayboy and he shags animals. C

Hi Rob, I think (!) that animals use logic based on experience but coupled largely to instinct, so that they don't always learn when they could. Their intellect limits their learning ability and so they flee if it MIGHT be dangerous.
