1] having to sit next to Brenda Keenaghan [smelly brenda] she stunk of piss
2] Maths
3] Mr Wales [honest] leaning over the desk to help us with our work, he had halitocis
4] Mr Ghent [honest] dragging me out of my seat by my ear lobes when he lost his temper when I misbehaved
5] appearing in the school play about Noah's Ark.

Derek which school did you go to? I went to St Thomas A Beckett in Sandal.

Anyway, for me the worst things were:

1) Metalwork
2) Woodwork
3) erm, thats it really, I seem to remember quite liking going to school actually!

My School days started at Halton Moor infants, then on to Halton Moor Juniors, and then onto the brand new state of the art purpose built John Smeaton High School, with carpeted coffee lounge areas [where we used to play british bulldog] individual language labs, floodlit redgras football pitch [ which feckin hurt when doing sliding tackles]

1. Michael Beresford in the infant school who shat himself leaking one day and we had bench seats YUK.
2. Fred Beech the methodist lay preacher headmaster the t**t used to ask you if you wanted the cane, if you promised to not do it again you got a second chance. At least the headmaster previous to him was human.. well we thought so... especially as he put the head girl in the family way.
3. Music lessons. Feckin waste of space. Mr Wilkinson was a right bastid.
4. Mr Cousil (sp) the games master... sadistic bastard. And I used to like PE in those days I could run a 1/4 mile in 56.6seconds and loved cross country running.
5. RE another sadistic teacher in a waste of space subject.

School?

Left school nearly 50 years ago and I still shudder when I see the place. I hated everything about it from the teachers (sarcastic, sadistic bullies and in most cases fookin inept) to the subjects. I did detention most days and the greatest day in my life was when I lost my scholarship and so was allowed to leave. Only bright spot was the French oral teacher in the last year. Student who didn't wear a bra and liked sleeveless blouses. Talk about a fight to sit in the front row in her class. b0x1

2, Leaky with no heating outside lavs at Primary school, by christ they were cold and with that IZAL Bog paper as well.....
3, Geography teacher Mr Fay, Turned out he was a bum boy and tried it on with a couple of students, he got sacked.
4, Tech drawing, try as I might I could never get on with it..
5, School Play, got put in one against my wishes and got stagefright big time.

1) Any day that had greens in the dinner ( which was most days and I STILL will not eat the shitty things ! )

2) The day at the startt of each year they chose the choir. The embarisment of being told in front on the whole school at assembly: 'Smith, you have no need to stand' ( The music master would go along the rows and tap you on the shoulder if you were not wanted, at which time you sat )

3) Being chosen for various sporting teams.. Cricket was one and the diving team another.. I know your all gonna be saying geek but the reason I disliked being in the sports teams was cos they took priority over the chess and electronics clubs !

4) Coming out at close of play to find you had a flat tyre on your bike and faced a 5 mile fookin push !

5) The whole school scene really. I lost interest very quickly when I went to senior school.. I could not keep up with some classes such as German, while others such as math and physics I had finished the term work by the end of week four abd was bored shitless !
