What a strange experience!

good looking AND modest
I thought about corrective surgery, went and had my eyes tested, came back I would still have to wear reading glasses anyway, so calculated that I'd be 200+ by the time the surgery paid for itself against glasses, I like these reactor light, scratch-resistant varifocal specs I wear now.

I wear reading glasses but could never wear contacts, just the thought of poking something in my eye makes me cringe having had bits of metal in my eyes no end of times & having to have them removed, the last time I did that I ended up at Coventry eye hospital where a nurse had to dig it out with a needle, horrible experience, now I have a grey scar on my eyeball that supposed to have faded over the years but I can still see

Also had the pupil widening drops once & found that extremely painful, there is no way I could have driven in fact I had to be hauled out of there with eyes shut tight

Contacts are really simple to put in and take out these days. You can even sleep in them now, a far cry from the ones that I wore in the 1970s!!

Bad news I'm afraid - you graduated to 'old age' the moment you bought a Blackbird

Disagree with that. I refound my youth with the Bird.

Being old was riding a Police BMW. Middle age was changing to a Police ST1100.

The Bird (all 3 of them) brought out the youthfull yob in me :D

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
Oh, and then there was the steroid injection into the eyeball.....
…or an anaesthetic injection into the eyeball (many years ago a bit of welding clag went under my goggles and stuck to my eyeball.) Whenever someone says: “I’d rather stick needles in my eyes” I always say “Oh, yes – I let someone do that to me, once!”.

When I was ten I was diagnosed with shortsightedness- I hated wearing glasses and told the optician. I still remember him saying that when I got older it would be corrected by longsightedness developing. He was right and I only need glasses for driving now.

Of course he isn't - how can he type while having a shave and eating a burger??

I must write a hundred lines and then read the book on how to become an anal tw@t regarding my punctuation, grammar and spelling.....

Just saying like.....:D

I know what's coming next.

Well that was encouraging.

Got the result of the eye health check today, and it states that there is no evidence of Diabetic Eye disease or related issues (y)

So, all clear until January next year (unless my regular eyesight check throws something up later in the year)
