The accessory is a device to show the driver that lights are working. Incredibly for 1967 it was achieved using fibre optics.
Didn't anybody say that. I thought it was too obvious. I was going to remark that long past headlights had a little projection at top of rim to show light was working.

So how would doing that tell you if your indicator is working?

As an aside, I have just watched a programme about policing in New Zealand - they have a brilliant specific offence over there ‘Impeding Traffic Flow’ that allows them to penalise slow traffic where the driver does not have the courtesy to pull over to let others by when possible. It was introduced specifically to deal with motorhomes.
