Weekend BOXING - what was that all about?

I sat down on Saturday night in front of the box with a pint of Speckled Hen to enjoy what was being billed as:

"The Biggest British Heavyweight Fight for 12 years".

Audley Harrison vs Danny Williams. What a crock of crap. I thought Harrison was meant to be the next big thing since turning Pro? He brought fook all to the ring except a nervous left jab. So much for silencing his critics, he was worse than poor and Williams wasn't much better, but at least he looked like he wanted a fight.

To sum up Harrison:

Q)Is he world level?
A)No.

Q)Have his defenses improved?
A)No.

Q)Can he take a big punch?
A)No.

Q)Does he have stamina?
A)No.

Q)Is he a good fighter
A)No.

He's awful, Awful Audley, Fraudley Harrison............I could not believe it. Audley managed to punch himself out without actually connecting, it was something to behold. His jab was the weakest I have ever seen, a truly dreadful and heartless fighter. He threw 57 punches (if you could call them that) over 12 rounds!

As for Williams, well after he floored Harrison in the tenth he had him rocked, stunned and out on his feet, but yet he just stood there!!!, why not finish him off? What was that all about.

Thank God for Ahmir Khan who showed he's the classiest fighter around :bow:

Yup.. The "main fight" was absolutely pathetic.. Audrey was terrified the whole way through. If you are a boxer you are going to get hit and if you are a heavyweight it's going to be hard.. so accept that and get stuck in!! he could have easily beaten Williams but instead he's pretty muched ruined his career..

I did find it really funny tha Barry Mcguigan slated Audrey so badly and used any excuse in the other fights to refer back to him!! hahaha

Thought the whole thing with Tyson was a bit poor taste. He was a phenominal boxer but people seems to gloss over all the dispicable things he's done..

Anyway.. the Khan fight was funny.. he completely outclassed the other guy!!

Oh and nazeem looks a little "different" to his hay-day!!!

Glad to get that all out!! Everyone at work looked at me like I was a nutter when I asked if anyone had watched it.

I reckon the best bit of the evening was when Khan had floored "Thorpey" and he (thorpe) tried to flick himself from his back onto his feet, and failed miserably haha t'was hilarious!! He was being cocky as chuff even when he was taking a battering, mind you, Khan was sticking his chin out at him, goading him on.

Totally agree with you though, the main event was just boring. I went for a dump in the tenth round and missed the only interesting bit! When I saw the reply I couldnt believe it has floor Harrison, it was a forearm that went over the top of his head more or less! Not exacly c7u8 although I wouldnt have wanted to be on the end of it!

I watched it too what a pile of shite, only good thing was that i taped it so did not spoil my night out. I watched Ally and smokey joe on history channel
couple of nights before thriller in manniller what a fight, i think Alley or joe could have battered the pair of them at same time. Hope you enjoyed your

I too sat down expecting a proper rumble, but what did we get...fucking handbags!!

Audley Harrison is such a raging ponce my 60 year old mother could have whipped his sorry arse - the wanker! Danny Williams should have wiped the floor with him. Every chance he had to finish the job he just stood there puffing like a heavy smoker. Even Joe Bugner could have fought better and he was also a wanker.

Rant over - Amir Khan was bloody ace, good luck little fella and great to hear a young Muslim wish everybody a Happy Christmas, just goes to show what a huge person he is inside as well as a proper boxer.
