I DID

HI TERRANOVA, I DID THE CHANGE OVER ABOUT 4/5 MONTHS AGO, WHENT TO FRANCE, THEN ANOTHER TRIP TO ASSEN, ON THE VFR 800, NEVER MISSED A BEAT, A GREAT BIKE. BUT THE BLACKBIRD IS THE WAY TO GO, WHEN YOU HAVE A GO ON ONE THE POWER, THE RIDE POSITION, THE POWER, THE LOOKS, DID I MENTION THE POWER, , JUST GET ONE, BE A LITTLE WAREY BUT THEN GIVE IT A HANDFULL AND YOU WILL BE SMILING ALL THE WAY HOME. IT IS SOOOOO SMOOTH, POP THIS QUESTION ON THE MAIN FORUM AND SEE WHAT RESPONCE YOU GET
TAKE CARE,
AND KEEP IT SAFE.:}

I chopped in my '98 800i for an '00 1100xx after years on V4 Hondas.............

I'm tall at 6'4'' and in all honesty the pegs on the 'bird seem slightly higher hence (for me) although the 'bird is longer, it's no more comfortable.................

The 'bird's heavier and not quite as nimble, although there's a common, cheap and quick suspension mod that will speed the steering up..............

The engine is a mile apart..............in my opinion it hasn't quite as much character as the V4 but it's creamy smooth all the way, feels like it's got double the pull of the V4 and makes speed WORRYINGLY deceptive..................once you've tried one you'll be hooked...............also, the 'Bird has much more presence on the motorway - an important factor for me when filtering.........................go for it.............get a test ride or even better why not join us over the weekend at the Mini Bash? You're welcome to a blat on mine if I can take the V4 out.......maps and all info is on a sticky post on this site..........Sam
