There was no choice of colour scheme Gary
That is the original V and M colours @tu*

Jeez I didn't realise that was the case John. A bloke living beside me here has a VFR in quite a similar scheme I think it's some sort of special edition too.

Thanks you just saved me nearly or there abouts ?130 as I don't not need to change the chain and sprockets now

As when I put the wheel back the weekend after a new tyre I thought the chain was nearly on its max adjustment BUT after your post I went and looked and it only has a 42 on it now they tells me why the chain is on its max adjustment

The bike is number 12

Love the V&M version, can't afford one at those prices though.

Insurance wise, I wondered why the companies asked me if it was a 1100 or 1200 version of Blackbird on fresh quotes.

Is that a Honda hairy seat, or is it part of the V & M kit ?

yep..... VFR800fi AND cbr600f4 done like that by RS performance almost identical in colour and spec. Designed by John Keough, only 50 each of these were ever produced to celebrate Honda's 50years of racing success. A race tuned engine by Russell Savoury of RS Performance, Crimson Paint by Dream Machine, Full Akrapovic Exhaust System (road legal), Harris Rearsets, Ohlins Steering Damper, Goodrich Brake Lines, Carbon Hugger and Limited Edition plaque. These bikes cost over ?2500 more than the standard model when sold. I`m not 100% but i think they did an evo blade in the same colours.. very very rare but not sanctioned by honda for their 50th anniversary in 1999.

cbr6 on e bay at the minute for sale if you want to make comparisons.. there`s very little info about the web on any of the variations from the standard models.. i`ve a press piece in a bike mag from 99 somewhere..

as for the bird..In the late 90s Honda commissioned V&M (a reputable UK tuning firm no longer in existance) to tune 50 Blackbirds to celebrate their 50th anniversary hence the designation 50th Anniversary Model. In reality I believe that only about 25 were produced.I suspect cost was the reason ?16,000 (yes pounds) compared with ?9,500 for a standard model. They produced about 180 rear wheel HP when fitted with a race Akropovic, Apart from the obvious different paint scheme the bike also featured Penske rear shock, LSL steering damper, footrests & chainguard (no centre stand).

on a serious note if i had the money i`d buy it in a heartbeat..@tu*
but the claim money from the bus crashing the back of our vehicle or the car driving into the side of our vehicle hasn`t come through yet :xm
