Have you noticed that all lakes seem to have a giant pike that eats small dogs that go swimming in the lake, nobody has ever caught this pike as it is too wily, but many have seen it (allegedly) I remember as a kid fishing in Roundhay park lake hoping to catch it or at least catch sight of big Jack as he was affectionately known, in the 80's Roundhay park lake was drained to have some work done on it, and guess what No giant Pike to be seen, I was discussing this with my Brother in law and he told me that one of his colleagues had seen big jack getting on a number 22 bus heading for Templenewsham Lake obviously he had heard that they were draining his home and decided to move.

Not a myth

Our local boating lake/fish pond had a giant Pike, it made local news when some young kid caught the thing.

 He took it home, cooked and ate the damned beast

But was it notorious for eating small dogs that went swimming in the lake?

Bloody Nora - I knew it went on but it looks like a massive underground movement.
