Unlucky?

The only thing that was unlucky was Rooney getting injured - we were crap. Only the enthusiasm and skill of Rooney has got us through - all the hype surrounding him has papered over the problems - we are not a good team. Okay the disallowed goal should have stood, but we still missed 2 penalties. We have a couple of decent players - that's all.
All of the above has nothing to do with me being an Everton fan!

cole, cambell, were excellent, James the best he has played for england. neville was v.good (hate manutd. so that hurts saying that) the midfield were SHIT!!!! Owen worked hard and played well.

Beckham has had 4 crap games, did not look like he wanted to be on the field last night, stood off players, didn't tackle, did not do the CAPTAINS job at all. we were defending far too deep, but nobody took charge and LED the team.

pretty good summary Wolfie. Did the midfield actually come out for the second half? The players may say the're all gutted about the result - what about the fans that have probably paid thousands in black market tickets. They deserve to see a team that's at least up to playing with some pride and passion, not to mention a bit of skill along the way.

The biggest mistake IMHO, picking Vassell over Defoe
The minute Roons went off, the Portugese thought: "right well he's off and Vassell (who?) is on". Now they'd probably have thought the same thing had Defoe come on for Roons, but he'd have shown 'em the error of their ways (or am I bening a tad bias? :dunno: :} )

oh well, at least there are fewer of these around
